The one thing you rarely if ever will see on this board is a JL supporter EVER give JJ credit. However JJ supporters give JL credit all the time.

I think you have an equal number of idiots and an equal number of fair weathered fans who jump on and off the bandwagon. I sat through the fumbles of Stovall and the Veer offense, the infamous drop linebacker defense, and so on without giving up my season tickets. Actual knowledge of football has dropped in my section. When I was younger there was an older man who had his stopwatch out every punt for both kick and hang time. He only yelled toward the field when the opponent’s defense was about to blitz. He joked to my Dad that he had a blinking light in his binoculars, and I tried to get my Dad to buy me the same type of binoculars. Turned out the old guy had played for Army and coached in high school after his service. I’ll always remember USC in 1979 when after the game he walked toward these very enthusiastic Trojan fans; shook their hands, said the more talented team won, but it was a game that he would take any day over a cupcake blowout. Today, the “Tiger Bait” kids in those same seats cuss the players and coaching staff and leave in the 3rd quarter regardless of score until they repeat for the next home game.
Personally, I think this season has been magical. Regardless of who is in the game, those boys hustle every play. Chavis is like Bo Pelini in that defense involves working on the basics in practice and then trusting your instincts and not thinking too much in the game. The Reid interception against AL is a great example. On offense, now that we no longer have these mass substitutions and formation changes every play, those players can just play the game. Unlike many teams, we have solid and well coached special teams. I never thought about it until watching a kid’s YouTube video, but Joey Crappell will be a key to replace for next year. I don’t think he has ever had a poor long snap since he took over.
Thanks for the post because it brings back smiles to think of some of those long ago fans that I used to watch.

No doubt or they really just care about their guy rather than LSU.

I'm not sure I've ever seen this much love for a career backup player. I can't even think of another good example. Maybe someone else can come up with another one. Keiland vs Hester maybe?

Credit for what?
That he didnt throw 2 ints like JL did?
Serioulsy?
JL has earned it through his efforts on the field this year... not becasuse he is "liked" more.
I promise you this.. if JJ has like caliber numbers vs ark friday as he did vs ole miss and wuk I swear Ill come here and give him all the credit in the world.
But I'm not gonna sit here after these two shite arse teams he has played against and put him on the same "credit level" as what JL EARNDED through the first 8 games of this football season.
If you cant see the difference, its only bc you dont want to see it.

In fairness, how many good teams did Lee EARNDED it against? Auburn, Fla, Miss St and WVU have all proven to be very average at best. Oregon is a top notch team, but Lee struggled against them. Who else? Bama? Let's not go there.

So true. And I've been highly critical myself of the "face" and the chest bumping last year after 8 yard runs. But to be completely fair, I haven't seen any of that from JJ this season. He looks totally different back there to me.

What I don't understand is why people COMPLAIN about the QB situation, and we're undefeated!! If we were 0-4 in games that JJ started then yes complain all you want that Les is starting him, but if we're still winning STFU!!!

Saving JL's arse in the bama game. How many times do JL fans say he saved JJ's arse....and JJ supporters admit it....but no yall won't do the same.

It has nothing to do with WKU and Ole Piss...it's about the bama game. Every game but bama either QB could have won.

I see 2 mediocre QB's that are both playing well this year. The coaching staff thinks JJ is better. JL did what he was asked to do....now his job is to back up JJ.
What I don't understand is the mentality the JL guys have. They all talk about how he is a great team player, well if so he should be ok with being the back-up since he is a team player right? His supporters should do the same.

Here is the situation. Les Miles is a Risk Manager. In terms of managing risks with our QBs here are the scenarios:
JL - If he passes one of three options are positive results
JJ - If he passes he adds a forth option, so two of four options are positive. His mobility and elusiveness is a big positive
I love JL and he is still a contributor on our team. He just does not offer what JJ does and has demonstrated to the coaching staff. Plus he poses a higher risk. JJ is less of a risk to achieving victory!
An intervention is needed for those fans that can't see these facts and the others submitted in this thread.

It seems to me you are incinuating that JJ was good vs alabama... if you arent I aglogize in advance.

This is the biggest differnce or the "divide" we have.
If its not broke (whcih is wasnt) whats the purpose of changing?
One answer.. LM.
He prefers JJ over JL.
We pretty much all agree neither are great.. so that's where all this division comes from.
We were all content... things were going well, now we are changing.
I jsut hope things offensivley continue to go well the remainder of the year... LM is going to take a ton of heat if they dont.
As he should.

Yes it is. JJ came in and helped the team put together enough scoring drives to win.

Strongly disagree with this. I've knighted for Lee since last season when Jefferson's play was so frustrating. It is PAINFULLY obvious that getting Crowton out and Krags/Stud taking control has been the key to QB play this season.
Lee had said all the right things since he was benched in favor of JJ years ago. Coming off the bench suited him last season, and the team was successful (people forget we won 11 games)
JJ looks like a stud in his play this season, and I've turned the corner and I'll say that he deserves credit for what he's done. Again, Stud/Krags >>> Crowton. Both quarterbacks are better because of that change this season.
I think it's great that Lee got props for his play this season. I'm not going to criticize or try to decide who should start against Arky/UGA/Bama. I will say that JJ is a stud right now, and he is playing at such a high level that people have to be either related to Lee or too prideful to see that it's okay for him to start.
I want us to win. JJ hasn't done anything this season that makes me think he isn't a new quarterback. We will go 14-0, both will get rings, and this pointless discussion amongst rantards about which QB really was better in 2011 will go on for decades.
But hey, we'll be getting our 3rd BCS championship in 9 seasons, which is pretty fricking awesome.
JJ deserves a

17's int gave us the ball on the 15. ... we lost 2 yards in 3 plays and kicked a fg.

ok, i'll concede that.. not the point tho and you know it.
