I think Nippolt at this stage of the season is equal to Dugas. Dugas will hit better, but Nippolt will also save a hit per game that Dugas cannot. Nippolt is also a better contact hitter at this stage and we need productive outs. It's a wash IMO.

Nippolt is the best infield glove that we have among 2nd-3rd-SS. He just can't hit his weight.

Johnson will start Dugas on experience and the expectation is bat will warm up. I'm not sure I agree with the choice, but its not a bad choice.
