IMO, with the way the roster looks for next year and the caliber of HS recruits for 2016, this would be a terrible time to fire Les.
I understand your point of view, but I would rather have a new coach while we have some talent to work with. Nothing is changing in the QB department, it is a damn dumpster fire and I would rather fix this sooner than later, but I know that ain't happening unless he goes to UM

Pay closer attention to recruiting... it may be the single most valuable aspect Cam brings as OC.
2015 Justin McMillan just won back to back 6A championships in Texas.
2016 Shea Patterson and Felipe Franks
2018 Zadock Dinkelmann
If we can get through next year with Jennings, we will have elite talent at QB and time to let then develop before making them start.

At LSU that's Championships. Nothing more and nothing less. Anything less is just excuses IMO.
I want to say that the Rant has provided me with hours of entertainment and belly laughs.
I'm sorry but I just had to interrupt my lurking for this thread. You coons asses are the most delusional bunch I have ever seen. LSU is not nor has it ever been a true "elite" program.
Notre Dame, USCw, Alabama. Ohio State, Penn State, Michigan, Texas, etc are "elite" programs. LSU is a good program that has just happened to luck into a couple of really good coaches recently, but historically you aren't on the landscape.
To demand nothing less than championships is really funny to an outsider observer. You aren't to that level. Never have been.
I know that I have probably stirred up a hornet's nest, but really guys try to be a little honest with yourselves.
That's it. Have fun foaming at the mouth.

Certainly I will pay attention, but 10 yrs of a poor track record, save for bringing Met from another school is 10 yrs, my Bookie would like to meet you

Hey man, it is what it is. Lee never should have started in '08 and Jefferson certainly should not have started. Perriloux was the plan in '08 and '09. While it cant be measured how much that series of events would have impacted Lee and Jefferson, we find ourselves in a similar situation now.
Gunner Kiel fricked us over bad. As well as he is playing now, imagine two years sitting behind Mett in the same offense with the talent around him.

How did he do this? seriously how?

He was in his dorm room at ND before informing the staff that he wouldn't be playing here. That was January 27. NSD is first week of February.

Gunner Kiel
I think some of the folks who think like I do are in this link =
That is it does not matter who starts out here they won't develop as a QB with the system we have now, nor will they in the future. Hey it has been 10 yrs, 10 seasons, over 100 games ain't happen'in

All of our QBs have developed in our system. Every one. The problem is that lately we've had raw prospects with low ceilings.

First of all let me start with ALABAMA,they are a CHEATING piece of shite program if not for Officiating ALABAma does not have 2 of the titles under Saban alone with the Ritter crew. YES MILES is over PAID and will never win a NC! that was Saban and Fisher that left the 2 QBs that did win MM and MF and the talent to have won it all in 05,06 and 07. 2 loses a year during that span was rediculous
Posted on 12/27/14 at 5:11 pm to vjm41
Yeah, two losses when playing 10 straight weeks with displaced family members living in players' dorm rooms was ridiculous. Playing four Top 5 teams in one year was ridiculous. A national championship was ridiculous.

Yes it was tuff that year with the storms, BUT that is no excuse for blowing a 21 point lead against Tennessee and MILES working the players till they were leg dead it wasn't till Chavis got to LSU and HE and Miles had a shouting match at practice with which Chavis could be herd it seemed for miles around (SHOUTING)that his defense was not GOING TO LEAVE IT ALL ON THE PRACTICE FIELD. SKIP hired a on the job learning Head Coach, that still hasn't figured it out

Looks like Santa didn't bring him that Razor he asked for. He had his heart set on a red one.

But in the world of big time football, the real work is done in the background between representatives of coaches and schools (or NFL teams)and not in the open. Neither of us will ever know for certain which, how many, or if any points of interest Miles has had from other schools.
If this is the case, then why do you you so confidently assert that Miles passed on an offer from Michigan, as you did in your first post? Seems to run counter to your argument.
It's not unreasonable to believe that Miles is not some highly sought after coach in college football, based on the absence of the media ever linking Miles to an NFL opening, for example.
Most folks that are intelligent will conclude that Miles is a slightly above average football coach who isn't known for any specific unique qualities as an innovator or pioneer within his profession. His best accomplishments at LSU thus far are not to frick up recruiting and to hire good coordinators, and stay the hell out the way of whoever is the defensive coordinator. He's a "CEO" coach who likely contributes very little at the granular level but still yields decent (but not excellent) results, given his circumstances.
Thus, he's not a hot talent that immediately pops up when NFL or premier CFB coaching gigs become available.

WRONG!! They passed on him all three times. FACT!! F
Well their AD was quoted getting off the plane from BR stating that he couldn't get the deal done
quote:
Any perceived interest on UM part in Miles was merely to placate the fans when the UM admin and influentials had no intention of ever serioulsy considering him. FACT!!
Yep, they flew in just to consult with him.
quote:
Find someone other than Stanley Jacobs and Skip Bertman, the two who stand to gain the most out of saying they really wanted Miles but he turned them down cause he is more loyal to LSU, that says it happened the way you discribe!!
Joe Aleva and Mike Martin too
Hell, they even gave specific numbers

Well, not 100 percent, but that applies to most things in life. However, I'm pretty confident that it is probably the case, as he's never linked in the media at any point to any other program outside of his Alma Mater. LSU fans never have to be concerned (or elated) that he's making the jump to the NFL or a place like Texas, like Bama fans do. I mean, the motherfricker spiked it with 1 second left and then lied about it and threw his sophomore qb under the bus.
I doubt he's ever really been under consideration, given that he was handed an insane amount of talent yet he's only been to 3 SEC championships in 9 years (with Tuberville coaching Auburn, Nutt coaching Arkansas/Ole Miss, and Bama being down in about half of that stretch).

Yep, probably happened just like you said. My bad.

I'm guessing here that your analysis is tainted by your dislike for Les Miles. Go ahead. Just try to admit to yourself that you don't really KNOW.
Talent that just sort of drifted to Baton Rouge on a whim without any impetus from Les Miles?
Interesting point to say the least.
Next you will be assuring me that he isn't a good X's and O's coach without ever having been in a team meeting to know if you are correct. Amitite?
