Who knows, but it's an odd move to make since it's MF 1st season with the team and one would think he would need all the time he can get with the #1's vs #1's to be ready for the 1st game.

Whatever the reason for the move, I don't think I can spin it as a good thing for Matt no matter what it says or doesn't say for Wilson.

I guess my point is that I'm surprised at how blindly ignorant some on this board are acting about this. My opinion is that Carrol is trying to increase Wilson's trade value and not planning on starting him, but if Wilson is the better QB I don't see why he shouldn't start. With that said, in this thread I've heard that Pete Carrol is in jeopardy of losing his job if he starts a rookie over a career back-up who they just paid 25 million for. Some on this board think that Pete will get fired for essentially "striking oil" in the draft and finding a rookie good enough to beat out Matt Flynn?

Right...I love flynn but right now he has been a career backup that hasn't look to hot in the preseason. Talk about what he did in green bay but don't forget that green bay has 3 recievers better that seattles top reciever. Nelson Jennings and Cobb. Throw in findley and you have the best reciever's in the league. Seattle and miami running a race for the worst.

Flynn and Wilson also haven't had the chance to have a full starting lineup to throw to.

I predict Wilson will fall back down to earth Friday.

Pete will run the Seahawks into the ground and be coaching UCLA in about 2 or 3 years. He's a jive arse dork.

Hasn't looked too hot? 11/13 in his first game. Had a perfect pass for a long td dropped by TO in his second game. 1 interception in 2 games. Peyton Manning has 3 in 2 games (I think). How many touchdowns did Drew Brees and Tom Brady put up in their preseason show down?

Probably not far from the truth. He's been terrible in the draft.

Yeah Seattle hates LSU because of that AR$ they have for a coach. He should be back in LA taking the punishment with the rest of the coaches that screwed the USC team.

He might run the Seahawks into the ground but he always seemed like a cool guy.

He'll return to USC right after they get rid of Kiffen for not restoring USC to prominence when they fall on their faces this season and after.

Rewatching the broncos game:

TO absolutely killed Flynn in this game. Dropped crucial passes that hit him right in the hands.

I'm not thinking Seattle signed Flynn with the thought that he is the long term answer at QB. Flynn could be a good stop gap until their next franchise QB is ready. It looks like Carroll wants to see what Wilson can do with the first team, before Flynn returns to start for the final preseason game and the regular season.

I'm sure Matt Flynn will cry all the way to the bank.

You're right. They should start Wilson, since he has such a prestigious NFL career.

I watched the game last night on NFL replay. It appeared that Seattle has no winning NFL caliber WR nor OL on the field. The few times Flynn had time to throw the ball, someone on the OL was holding. His Wide receivers can't get separation.
This gives Wison with his talents an advantage. When the OL breaks down, he has the quickness and arm/delivery to make a play. Wilson is very talented, IMO. If he has the dedication to learn the system he should be in the NFL for a long time. If he depends on his running ability, he probably be like Vick and have a lot of injury problems, although, he is built like a running back and may be fortunate.
From what I saw, Flynn will be the starter in the first game.

the colts and redskins didn't sign veteran free agents to big contracts in the offseason. they drafted guys with the intention of them starting from day 1

They don't have an OL or any good WRs. Sidney Rice won't start until a few games in. I can't believe they didn't go out and get him some help.

Don't sleep on Wilson either. He's a good accurate passer and will be starting somewhere soon.
