The K's to BB's doesn't impress me because with that offense behind you and the cush leads we gave him to work with Gibbs knew all you needed to do was throw strikes. That is retarded a closer shouldn't walk anyone.

CPM has surrounded himself with a very poor coaching staff. i just wonder if any of these guys could land a coaching job at any other major university. what could davis posibly offer as a coach on this team? javi isn't swanke by any stretch, and doesn't make a lot of good decisions coaching 3rd. we have 21 pitchers on this team, (i know that 3 are inactive) and all we can find is a couple that we can depend on? There should have been a shakeup in the coaching staff after last season.

Saying Ott was overrated his freshmen year is easily one of the dumbest things I've ever read on this board. He set the LSU record for saves in a season. LSU doesn't win the NC without him, period.

Well there were quite a few teams who could've used you and your incredible bat against Ott that year.

Our offense just sucks.

The new bats don't help either.

What does the offense behind him have to do with anything? He was always pitching after LSU's last at-bat in a close game.

So what about the .237 BA against? Shouldn't people be able to hit strikes?

You realize to have a save that your leads aren't Cush. Their within striking distance.
That's why it's a save. If we go by your perspective then there are no good closets because the offense gave them the lead. No shite Sherlock.

boom? Besides with the talent, facilities, and fanbase we have, there is no excuse for going more than 1 year in a row without making it to Omaha

The leads are Cush when the majority of them at 3 run leads. Also it isn't a matter of your team putting you in the lead it's knowing they will keep you in the lead. There are closers who don't have that support for example K-Rod with the Angels or Trevor Hoffman with the padres.

This is where CPM needs to take some heat.

Trey Watkins. THREE errors in the OF 1 less than our 2B. A pathetic 225 batting avg and now .933 fielding avg for a LF.

If he isnt so hard heading in having to have him in the order today Watkins is available to PR in the 6th inning from second instead of a MUCH slower Didier.

2 errors by a player that should have been riding the pine hurt us today. He had no hits.

For the series..

Friday 0 for 4
game 1 today 1 for 3 1 run
game 2 1 ground out 2 errors

Why is CPM sticking with him? If this were any other player he would be riding pine. Watkins has been horrible in LF this year. And as bad behind the plate. 2 runs scored due to his errors today. I can accept an error by a SS or 3B but a LF missing fly balls? Sorry.

too loyal. Outside of his first 15 games against week non-conference competition last year, Watkins has been pretty terrible

I really don't feel like looking it up, but by glancing at the box scores it shows Ott had at least 7 1-run saves.

Not to mention what he did against South Carolina in the SEC tourney (coming in bases loaded, no outs, and getting 3 outs in a row) or against Texas in Omaha.

Yea, he just lucked into the LSU job and then a national title in his 3rd year.

Dude, get a clue.

I agree with others that he needs to take a hard look at his staff, but CPM's overall record as a HC is about as good as it gets.

Well yes he is, unless/until he proves otherwise.
