Players are often given a better reputation when their draft stock is high. UNC has some very good defensive players but by no means are they the '85 Bears or Alabama or any comparison like that. OLB Quan Sturdivant, DE Robert Quinn, S Deunta Williams and maybe CB Kendric Burney are actually productive, though maybe not having the impact some would lead you to believe. DT Marvin Austin and OLB Bruce Carter are all potential, neither has shown me much in actual games. As a Virginia Tech fan in my downtime from LSU football, I will say that they are a very good group and first downs, much less points, will be tough to earn. That said, they are being labeled as invincible by some because of their draft projections while at least two of those guys have not produced the way their potential suggests they should. VT has struggled against UNC but LSU has far better athletes and should do at least a little better. UNC's offense does not look promising and should not score more than 13 points against us.

All of that defensive production and an 8-5 record to show for it... absolutely terrifying...

Bu..Bu..But wait, that awesome record came when they played in the super conference known as the ACC!!! Our pedestrian record in the SEC last year may have looked better than their record, but we weren't playing the likes of Duke, NC State, and UVA!!!

For ACC media days I saw UNC was picked for 3rd or 4th in their division...not conference, but division. UNC was wild inconsistant last year on offense and defense. I think us Tiger fans are hyping them up too much.

It's really impossible to know. And you can't put too much stock in what UNC's doing. Bowl game performances have become way too overrated by fans and the media when preparing for the next season.

I know...it's like basing your thoughts on LSUs upcoming season on their spring game....oh wait, nevermind.

Pittsburg's offense was ranked 45th last year, maybe we should worry.

UNC does NOT look as good as I was expecting them to (Based on all of the hype coming from the rant).

First thing if you listen to ESPN and some of the other networks that UNC is the next coming of the next addition to the NFL.

Also if you would be a visitor to this site you would think you thought you where on an UNC board and not an LSU board.

They had wrather knock the Tigers insted of uplifting the Tigers. The Tigers have better overall talent and is more battle tested than any team in the ACC.

I Say!

Did you watch any UNC games last year? Don't let the rankings fool you....LSU's offense is WAY better and their defense is just as good. UNCs offense is a train wreck. They have nobody unless you count Little.

Yea...Miles always seems to have trouble with those ACC teams

I haven't read this thread but I bet there is a lot of homerism and biased view points.

Shall I sing "Wind beneath my wings" to the Offensive Line?

Some of you people are incredible.

Pitt was solid.

LSU is supposedly the exemplar of bad OC, bad time management and no QB. So...

1) the public perception of LSU is: 9-3 would be a very good year.

2) Pitt was in the mix for Big East champ. Dont remember if they got it, but... they were solid.
