Just look at the talent pool Mt. Union has access to with little or no competition...

One of the top recruiters if not the top recruiter, Yes.
As far as X's and O's and game planning goes, No.
But in college football if you get the talent it can make up for the X's and O's and cover up mental mistakes made my both players and coach.
But, Saban is the best college coach. Hands down. Cant really argue that. Then there is a 2nd group with Miles, Meyer, etc, etc.
But I do not have a problem with having one of the top coaches in the country

Take LSU's team last year and put in another college coach and ask yourself could that coach won the BCS. If any of your answers yes, then Les can't be the #1 coach.
Nick Saban
Jim Harbaugh
Urban Myers
Steve Spurrier
Mac Brown
Bob Stoops
Number 1 not hardly.

Which one of these got invited to the dance? And Miles did beat Saban at his house.

Bruh if you really think Spurrier, now not 96 spurrier, or bob stoops( whom has lost more big games than all of those combined) would've win that game then youre not holding all those coaches to the standards you're holding miles to.
ETA : holy shot I didn't Even notice you put Mac brown. Yeah if you think Mac brown is a better coach than Miles, you should be ignored when talking CFB. Texas is prob the most underachieving program of the last decade. I think Texas Has only won 2 Big 12 titles in the last decade with the biggest built in recruiting advantage of any program. Some LSU fans think LSU recruits itself which is bullshite, but UT does recruit itself. MB recruits for like 2 months out of the year and then Shuts it down except for a few blue chips who won't commit early. Think about it, MB gets his pick of the litter from the most talent rich state in the country where high school football is a religion.

Saban is a solid #1.
Miles is ranked in the top five.

Is Les Miles best college football coach in America?
Impossible to say where he ranks IMO. He's an enigma. For him to be bad enough to not gameplan for the NC game, stick with JJ, etc. but good enough to have that team play so great for 13 games....
I personally think we've left championships on the table b/c of his mistakes, but then again maybe someone else would have us losing 3 games a year. He's what we have.

Thanks I really needed a good laugh.
Miles is a very good recruiter and an average at best coach.
But winning college games is 85% recruiting

More emoticons! Certainly! Can do:
I really need to have a few
before I get started on a thought provoking
thread that requires the emoticons to jump into action.
I'll try and incorporate all of the little guys next post. Glad you noticed.

he's the only coach to get the football program to a 13-0 record. EVER.
Best record in school history. The school has only been around since 1860. That's saying something
Yes, it's saying that they didn't start playing football until 1893, and didn't play 13 games in a season, and therefore couldn't be 13-0, until 2001. We've had some undefeated seasons. 2011 was not one of them.

Is Les Miles best college football coach in America
Obivously not, since he isn't even the best coach in his division of his own conference.

Les Miles seems disjointed at times, is a great quote machine and runs a top 5 program. He is NOT the best coach in the nation now or at any 5 year period over his career. I can't see how anyone can say he is the best in CFB. IF he runs the table next year it will not change this, just keep him near the top.
