I think you and I both know the main reason. JL is a great kid but so is JJ.

As for on the field both of them have their faults. According to the coaches JJ's are not as bad as JL's. Unless you really believe the coaching staff would rather start an inferior QB.

Two games. And for the last time, his play against UT was nothing special. I appreciate Lee's efforts, but this isn't self-esteem class. He'd start if he was better.

What the frick are you laughing about. The proof is in the pudding. Even after this frickup, Lee probably still won't start. I'm not trying to smack the kid down, but there's a reason he's second string.

Lee's numbers in his redshirt freshman year were better than JJ's in his junior year coming off a full year of starting experience.

I cant speak and dont attempt to speak for other people.
Asfor me it boils down to what Ive seen with my own two eyes.

No, I jsut believe LM has went "all in" on JJ.
Its evident. He has been selling JJ on his improvemnt, leadership and maturity since spring.
Sadly.. LM is the one IMO getting fricked over the most here.

lol.

Do you know either one of them personally? Or, are you basing this statement off of the fantasies you have about getting their autographs after curb stomping some 9 year old in line at fan day to get to the front of the line?

Two of his most recent and extensive playing time games.
I love how a players individual efforts are labeled as "nothing special" even though they are the reason we won the football game.

JJ starts because he is the better college quarterback. Don't overthink this.

You may as well stop right here...you're talking to the same group of guys that will tell you to this day that LSU would have been better off playing Matt Flynn during the 2005 and 2006 seasons.

Just ask them.

As far as I can tell, no one has suggested Jefferson is great, or is the guy we would choose if we had our pick of QB's currently available in college ball. That being said, it's pretty clear the coaching staff has determined that they think JJ gives them the best chance to win based on our current roster of QB's...and some of us happen to agree with them.

This entire escapade was incredibly stupid, callow, and undisciplined. Worse yet, it was selfish. Whether they choose to acknowledge it or not, the LSU football players are in a position of great privilege. That privilege is attended by certain duties. The actions of the players didn't merely affect themsleves, they affected their teammates, their coaches, the LSU AD, all of the boosters who donate hard-earned wages to support the program, and the entire passionate LSU fanbase. The players who were involved should be ashamed.

Les Miles alone does not make up the coaching staff.

I guess that's the difference between us and them. We think JJ (thus far) has been pretty bad, but that JLee is worse.

They think that JJ is terrible (and evil, with a bad attitude) and that JLee is great, but hasn't had the opportunity to show it because the coaches would rather lose with JJ than win with Lee.

What a joke.

So there are offensive coaches currently on staff that would prefer Lee? And even if true, would it matter...do they get to make the call?

It's one thing to suggest that Miles et al are simply wrong in their assessment of JJ being the better option, but most here seem to suggest that Miles is purposefully playing a guy who gives LSU a worse chance of success. It's beyond idiotic.

All of the shite that you read on this board is about that. Don't fool yourself. Most of the bullshite surrounding this incident was about JJ vs. JLee (and, to a lesser degree, Mett).

Don't be naive.

Agreed obviously I am no fan of JJ but the combo of his poor play and not accepting responsibility for it has been a huge issue for many.

After putting up 4 total yards vs McNeese he was quoted as saying he thought he played fine. After the season, a season where he threw 4 TD passes in the regular season and went through 7 games without throwing a TD or exceeding 100 yards passing he was quoted as saying he thought his overall play was fine.

I dont recall Lee trying to convince the fans after one of his poorer games as a RS freshman that he played well.
