That isn't normal. He should be sucking down water and gatorade 3 days before the game concentrating on getting hydrated. Its a lack of hydration and should be able to be prevented.

Its not from dehydration.

Yeah, let's see, we cannot replace him on defense with anyone close to his talent level but the true is not same on returns and the only gaurantee we have is that he will need an IV at some point. Makes sense to me.

So is returning punts exacerbating his condition or would he most likely be getting cramps if he were only playing defense?

The punts returning probably isn't the problem the excitment and intensity of scores and fumbles though may exacerbate it.

I hear he isn't even getting IV's sometimes its just a relaxing environment for him to wind down.

Then I hope they aren't skimping on the kid. Get him some scented candles and lotion from Crabtree and Evelyn. That Bath and Body Works shite won't cut it.

I like the idea of having RR back to return punts, I would rather have PP in at defense...just remember the Bama game last year, the one play he was not not in Julio Jones goes 80 yards, don't get me wrong he is great at returning punts and would love to see him doing it, but he is just too valuable of an asset on defense to have him keep cramping up.

Look I've taken 5 medical physiologies and it has nothing to do with potassium deficiency......hypokalemia causes muscle WEAKNESS in fact.

I've taken more medical classes than your mind could fathom, so I'll just calmly say this:

1. go read another book or two.

2. LINK

Did you just reference me to a college newspaper and an article from almost 3 months ago?

And how did that not justify what I said?

quote:

The biggest adjustment since the North Carolina game has been a change in Peterson's
mental approach.

"I figured out the perfect plan - stay calm throughout the whole game,"
Peterson said. "I used to be so amped up and ready to play. I always have to remind myself, ‘Just calm down, Patrick, calm down.'"

Look this is fact..........Patrick Peterson is more than adequately hydrated at this point in the season........still week after week he is struggling with this condition......do you honestly feel that its because he is dehydrated.........come on. Week 1 or 2 sure..........week 6.............come on man.

So you are acknowledging he has a serious problem that keeps occuring and yet want to take the risk that he is out of the game when we really need him to be on the field playing defense?

No what I'm saying is that at this point defense or defense/ST, I think the results would be the same just like last year.

5-6 LSU players were suffering from cramps again. Its a conditioning factor. LSU needs to re-evaluate strength and conditioning. It really comes to light when Tigers enter the NFL.

Nice try.

Educate yourself, get smarter if possible, then come back when you can actually argue your point. You completely missed what the player quotes were in that article.

And yeah I referenced it because if it was fixed it shouldn't be a problem now should it? hmmm?

If the cramping were a new issue this season, you'd have a point that returning punts and kicks was the cause. However; if you'll recall, at no point did Peterson return punts or kicks last year, yet he still suffered from cramps. Most notably the Alabama game.

It was reported on the post game show last night that Peterson frequently does not receive IVs when he goes into the locker room, but goes in to relax.

But I guess it's just easier for everyone to keep name calling and throwing out insults.
