The talent has to be there b/c we've been in the top 5 recruiting classes for a while. They aren't developing them. What are they doing at practice??

Either way you slice it, Ed Orgeron is the head man. It's all on him.
BTW... hes really not this great recruiter everyone was claiming him to be. His roster management fricking sucks.

This reminds me a lot of the end of the DiNardo era.
Hallman had brought in talent, but it was very poorly structured recruiting. Gerry went after a lot of high potential, high risk, low character players and that started to bite him in the arse those last two years. The core was there, but those misses hurt.
Then add in the loss of Reese (DC) in 1998 and then Watts (OC) after that season, all the developmental knowledge left.
DiNardo was a much better coach than O ironically, but he inherited a mess unlike O. O simply doesn't understand planning and instead chases star rankings like an idiot.
You can take those risks when you are developing the lower tier prospects. If you can't develop those and miss, you are in deep shite, which is why LSU is where it is.
