the man is right in the middle of building a national championship football team.

we are better than we were last year, and pulled in questionably the best recruiting class this school has ever seen. this year's class is solid, and next year's class will be ridiculous.

we will be better next year than we were this year.

2011 is setting up pretty well for our football team. If it doesn't work out, fire his arse.

right now, it's just too soon.

The problem arises when it's always next year, and never this year.

Based on what? 2005-2007?

Hopeful. At best.

Not really.

That's like asking if George Bush should have gotten a third term.

i think that moving on miles right now would be very detrimental to our program.

moving on him in 2 years if he doesn't handle business would be more timely.

and if you don't think that we are a better football team than we were last year, you obviously haven't sobered up from saturday.

If we lose four games next year he has to go. Probably three. And if its two, it depends on how bad the losses are.

I'm fine with him getting 2 more years as long as he hires a clock management coordinator. we have an oc, dc, special teams co., recruiting co., hell lets add one more guy. His only game day responsibilty is to make those tough game management decisions.

If we lose Saturday then this year will be just as bad as last year and while the defense has improved the offense is worse.

next week means absolutely nothing in the grand scheme of things. season's over, bowl game aside.

I can agree with your point, the problem is what happened Saturday at Oxford feeds into what so many have said about Miles from jump street. Does everyone make mistakes, absolutely we all do but the type of mistakes that Miles & co. seem to make seem to be the same type of mistakes over and over again. I mean Miles detractors can point to instance after instance of the same type of mistakes. For instance, just this year during the Georgia game, remember when there was 40 seconds before halftime and we let the entire 40 seconds run off without even trying to throw in the endzone, or set up for a field goal. How about the Alabama game when we had used every one of our timeouts with 11:23 left to go in the game. then to the fiasco this past Saturday night.

Certainly, I say again we all make mistakes, however when a CEO is paid close to $4 Million a year, I believe one would expect more than what we have been getting.

Miles is a great guy, great recruiter, but seems to lack the game day decisions that need to be made. Is it too early to fire. I would wait and see how we respond with Arkansas. If the team has given up on him and believe me having played athletics , you will know Saturday night if they have or not. If this happens then it may be useless for him to stay around. However, given that , even if the Tigers lay an egg, you can rest assured that Miles will not be fired.

give me one reason that you think les miles could coach an NFL team in the SEC with less than 2 losses?

Again i say Miles didn't earn his championship ring...WE GOT FAIRLY LUCKY! Two teams lost for us to get there, and HE WON WITH SABAN'S RECRUITS!

So then what's the point in playing next week since it means nothing in the grand scheme of things? Why play in bowl games unless its the BCS title game since they don't mean anything in the grand scheme of things?

Fact is the bowls, themselves are over-rated, yet are used to prop up Miles record somehow.

Bowls outside of NC games don't mean jack, but SEC games mean everything. If we lose to Arkansas for a THIRD straight year, and second time in a row at HOME with a much more talented team EVERY year, than there is no excuse.

If it is because Miles has lost the team, then he needs to go PERIOD.

i am by no means a miles apologist. i actually hate that he's our coach.

saturday was unforgivable.

i am, however, inclined to take a look at what he can do with the talent he's assembled for 2 more years. i have a feeling in my gut that this team will be special, and can't quite justify disrupting that by quoting clock management issues as a reason for firing the guy.

We won that championship in spite of not because of Miles. Look at just obvious horrible decisions from that season Kentucky Scott 1st half 90+ yds 2 td 2nd half 0 carries, 1st OT 0 carries, 2nd OT 0 carries, 3rd OT on 4th and 3 give him the ball. Arkansas same year worst QB in the league 4th and a mile and we have two of our best corners ever and we rush 3 and go in prevent. Sorry this guy was given the keys to a ferrari, but he doesn't know how to drive a standard.

you guys can honk all you want, but i think that the people who get paid a lot of money to actually make these decisions will see it my way.

their hands are tied regardless, so everybody should just stfu and hope for the best. i don't think it will play out to be quite the disaster that everyone has described on this board today.
