There is no heir apparent at LSU. Last heir apparent was Mike Archer.

Wouldn't think so but wouldn't be opposed...

No, Les will never retire. He'll be hanging around here like Joe Pa until he falls over. If anything happens to him anytime soon, the only assistant that would be ready to step in would maybe be Cam.

Orgeron is by far the better recruiter, and really, he has the best single season HC spot on either's resume; he went 6-2 as interim HC at USC. Cameron had a losing record overall at Indiana, which is about the same as Orgeron's losing record at Ole Miss. And while Cameron was a head coach with the Dolphins in the NFL, don't forget they went 1-15.
Both guys are about the same age, so it's a wash there.

Wilson's biggest impediment to success is that he is a rb coach. as such, he doesn't have enough direct experience at game planning or developing new or exotic schemes. in other words, he doesn't have any specialty he brings to the table as an offensive guy. morris and gus made big jumps because they were considered smart offensive innovators. that is what Wilson is missing.
Wilson is a top notch recruiter and administrator but he is not know as a top notch scheme guy.

So running back coaches don't work on the game plan? Wonder how much game planning and game play calling head coaches actually do. My experience is they spend more time shaking hands and kissing babies. Meeting with alumni and boosters. You hire your coordinators and assistants to due that scheming and play calling. Not thatthe HC doesnt know what is going on, but not as hands on that most people believe. Some coaches are more involved than others.
