That's only because there are less people in Tuscaloosa period.

And much of Tuscaloosa would fail to impress you.

the way things are looking I think Trent may be done, it sucks because I like him. But the outlook isn't looking too good for next season, unless alleva is really stubborn and does not want to admit his mistake.

With that lineup I posted I dont see us making the tournament, still really young and while there's some talent, there's too many knee draggers. Going to have to make the tournament too to keep his job IMO. 3 years and no tournament simply isnt acceptable, especially if we're really bad again. This coming year is all up on Trent now, no more blaming Brady.

Ok

TJ can not recruit (Sorry but he can not, he gets a lucky one every now and then)

Lopez Twins, uh...that would be pretty much it!

It is kind of a final straw for him when we lost that recruit.

We lost a kid to Nebraska, enough said!

TJ is not a good coach!! Period!

Here comes that breakdown:

quote:

Poor execution on play calling

quote:

I have never seen a team struggle with the press more than LSU did this season.

quote:

All teams had to do was press and switch to a zone defense and we looked lost.

I probably should have said, all opponents.

quote:

TJ could not set up and offense to break either.

I will give you that one. I was angry typing this sentence. I meant to say, TJ can not set up a press break

quote:

No press break and no zone offense! It was horrible!

Self explanatory. We could not beat a press and we had a terrible offense against a zone. How do I know this? Because just about every team played zone against us and spanked us. That offense we rain was so ugly. Our screens were weak and almost useless.

Its unfortunate but I think Trent is in a world of trouble. Not having a proven and experienced (difference maker) point guard, I just don’t see a major turn around next year. I hope that I am wrong but I believe that we are going to have another tough season.

Maybe Trent will do better by holding open tryouts in the Rec to find some talent.

I think a winning record and the NIT will get him another year, especially with a good recruiting class. Not saying I agree with that, but I'm being realistic.

Being the biggest Trent backer on the board...

My opinion is that the Talley kid is the difference in Trent getting his 5th year and getting canned after next season

I could see that, but he needs to land the cream of the crop in LA for 2012 for this to happen. Specifically I'm looking at Gathers.

We do lose a decent bit of players after this upcoming season, although none are big losses (Green, Bass, White, Warren)

I am amazed that by this time TJ has not done one thing to shake up his staff or sign another significant player. WTF is he thinking. He let his best point guard leave, loses his JC hopefuls and has not fired one coach. Joe Aleva should have already stepped in and told him to shake his staff up at least. He knows he is in trouble and has done nothing to improve his status, I am beginning to think he really doesn't give a damn and wants out. I can tell you this if he loses to Nicholls state again he will not have to worry about an SEC record he wont make christmas. I also still believe he tried to get the Utah job and was laughed at, he is just gonna ride this 1.5 mill in the ground, cause for him not to have made one move since the season is a joke, just like the last two years have been. What about the attrition since he has been here, he has lost at least 6 kids since he has been here, I think he may have brady beat in that stat in three years. Thanks TJ.

I can't explain it, but losing Talley broke my heart. It stole that last little bit of lingering hope that next year won't suck. Our back court just won't cut it.

losing him to freaking nebraska is the hardest part to choke down.

on another note why didn't alleva send out a letter of reprimand to trent like he did with Miles after the 2009-10 season?

JR - You've caught a lot of crap on here for what you've posted and you're proving to be VERY correct. Thanks for bringing honesty here.

Trent said when he came here he was going to be able to recruit with the best because he didn't have the restraints like Stanford.

Trent harped on the idea that he has only lost 1 player in his coaching career. We're on what 6 now?

Trent has won 5 SEC games out of the last 34. That is not a misprint. That is 5 games in two seasons.

Trent more or less stated he would not recruit JUCO players. His recruiting thus far has been poor and has forced him to recruit Juco's and even that backfired.

My friends - LSU hoops is unquestionably in a world of trouble.

If that stuff about his past is true, then maybe we're the problem

I do not argue because most of the time my information is based on facts. I do offer my opinion on here because I truely have had been very involved in LSU bb for a very long time until TJ came along and I was told to take a hike from day one along with many other longtime bb supporters. CT2 was told the same at the end of garretts career. My view on TJ from day one has not changed and unfortunately most of the things I have stated have come true. I love LSU bb and too watch this guy not get it, pisses me off. I have never understood his "building a program strategy", especially after signed ludwig and bass, truely wasted schollies. He is feeling the results of not signing one player in his first two years, which is unheard of in D1 bb. I have always said he was the wrong guy for this job and still believe that, and felt like there is no time like today to move on. The fact that we lost these two juco kids to Nebraska and Oklahoma should be huge flag, Oklahoma didn't even have a coach till last week, and Nebraska since when do we lose recruits to Nebraska. Then the other kid Mr. BB Kentucky is not even being looked at by Kentucky or Louisville, what does that tell you. TJ should resign at this point. He has failed miserably and we should move on.

Sorry but TJ is just a BAD recruiter. We have a desperate need and nobody wants playing time under his tutelage.
