I been to Auburn twice, I had fun both times. One loss and one win.

I guess the Auburn fans who don't go to Baton Rouge hear all of the 'horror stories' and feel the need to return the favor
My cousin went to Auburn and her friend sitting next to hear at the 2003 LSU-Auburn game in Baton Rouge had a bag of piss thrown on her. So yea, those 'horror stories' are sometimes true. I've never heard of that happening at Florida games in Gainesville, they place folks in this thread called the cesspool of the SEC.

It is a fantastic trip and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. They have a great stadium and you are almost always guaranteed a great game. If you are a golfer, bring your sticks and hit the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail, Greenville, Prattville, and/or Opeleika.

Definetly. I went two years ago & even though we lost, me & my friends had a blast. People are nice, town is pretty & the bars aren't bad. We're all going again this year.

trust me, when it came time to go through the line to get idiot fans, i think LSU went thru twice.
florida NEVER LEFT THE LINE.
i will say that just about every story of an auburn fan i have every heard starts with "my cousins' friend..." or something similar.
i have been a victim of and witness to the actions of florida "fans". this in addition to incidents that have happened to my immediate family.
this isn't to say that things haven't happened...i just think, as many others do, that the alleged incidents in baton rouge have been blown out of proportion.

If you have the opportunity, no way I would pass it up this year. The game will be at night at the atmosphere will be second to none.

Geez, is everyone on this thread 18-20 years old? I have been to every campus in the SEC to watch LSU and they are all enjoyable trips in their own way. A road trip is what you make of it.
Now, if you have "issues" wit cops or fan of a certain school, grow up and get over it. Enjoy the event for what it is. It's a game and in the end. there isn't a damn thing you can do to change the outcome.
Not meant to preach and I'll step down now...
I say go to as many as you can and enjoy the trip!

i agree a road trip is what you make it.
the only school i thought the cops sucked at was uf but that seemed to be everyone there that though it. 21 or not.

I have been to several AU-LSU games in TS always wearing an AU shirt of some sort. Never had a single problem or anything out of line done or said to me. The first time it was me and one buddy and we tailgated and ate all we could handle with some random LSU fans. The next two times I went with the same group of about 10 guys and girls. The guys were all my gym buddies and big guys but nothing but good times. We stayed and partied in NO the night before, tailgated at TS and then the game.

Surprised to hear you say we hate Florida fans. The fanbase we really hate is Georgia. That damn barking gets old really fast.
oh, i got the idea that there was a rivalry there with UGA no doubt. but the comments i recall about behavior had to do with florida fans.
thanks for the heads up on the state fair.

Fixed it for you, asswipe.

nah, i'm not 18-20 -- but that is what struck me when the original poster asked if 'auburn was worth the trip'.
offense intended - if you have to ask if going to see the game that decides the sec west is 'worth the trip', then you need to figure out if you're really a LSU fan or just looking for 'entertainment'
now the thread sort of turned to experiences around the league....
i've been to every venue in the SEC with the exception of kentucky, and to OOC games in LA, south bend, talahassee, blacksburg and numerous other locales.
i went to my first game there in the mid 70s. since the early 90s, almost every trip that my family or i have made to gainesville we have either witnessed or have been a victim of some type of incident.
that is not a matter of 'growing up' and getting over something. its a matter of at the least not wanting to be subjected to the bad treatment, and also worrying about something seriously bad happening. for that reason, i am very hesitant to go back.

Hey lsusa douche! I asked the question for a few different reasons. The main reason; financially. As I stated I will be making the trip to Columbia this year, and we all know how expensive LSU weekends can be. Just trying to get some tiger fans perspective on the auburn trip. For you to imply that I am not an LSU fan is assinine. My dad played QB then moved to FB 69-71. So I was born with purple and gold in my veins. So frick YOU lsusa and have a great day!
Thanks to all the tiger fans for your insight

I hope you're being facetious.
The only bag of piss thrown on Auburn that night was LSU defense shutting down their offense.

Yeah its worth the trip. At least once. Never pass up the chance to see our boys play in another SEC venue. You'll be glad you have the momories - even if they are less than perfect. One of the best road trips I took was to Athens to see us get destroyed in 04.
