That is a bit more of a trip for me. But there is some history there, it just predates everyone on this site.

LSU and Arkansas played in Shreveport every year except 1918 from 1913 to 1936 in the annual State Fair Classic and actually played for a trophy in 1924 dedicated to the opening of the new State Fair Stadium (now Independence Stadium) and the Original Mike the Tiger was formerly installed as Mike I at the State Fair Classic in 1935. That tiger, originally named Sheik, was purchased from the Little Rock Zoo.
