The traveling Tigers will have a tailgate. I'm not traveling with them, but I figure I'll pay to tailgate with them. Don't know much else going on up there anyway.

Little early yet to pin down the details but you should be able to hook up with other tiger fans to tailgate once you get up there....no problems at all.

Look out for the Boston alumni association. I know they are taking buses up there and I'm sure they will have a great tailgate.

I'm sure in the next few weeks we'll start seeing heads of alumni chapters pumping up how they will throw the greatest tailgate ever. It'll probably have free food, booze and a chance to see a secret big name band which can't be named until showtime included with the $75 admission ticket.

If you knew how much it cost the Houston Alumni Chapter to throw the tailgate last year you might understand.

I run a softball coaches clinic every year in Houston area and we get charged automatic gratuity and service charge totaling 32%+ for food and beverage we provide. Texas law won't let us provide our own in a hotel or convention center, the facility is only allowed to do so.

Maybe you should have considered that before charging people a lot of money to attend such a poorly run tailgate. Don't get your feelings hurt though, the houston chapter is not the only group that rips off tiger fans. I just feel bad for the fans who fall for it year after year.

Nothing like tailgating and cooking breakfast for those noon games.

I was still working then and not an active member of Houston chapter like I am now. There are a ton of alumni here who want things like tailgates, etc., but won't volunteer to help...necessitating having to pay for catering.

And you know Damn well that if the Houston chapter didn't have one... or the DFW chapter when we played in Arlington, etc, y'all would all be complaining about the lack of tailgating.

Any profit left over after paying the bills was given to LSU for scholarships. The Houston chapter donated over $100,000 last year to LSU. Just so you know.

You are 100% wrong. These alumni "tailgates" have seriously messed up the away game experience. Lsu fans have never needed some cheesy overpriced alumni tailgate in order to have fun. I think tiger fans did just fine taking over bars and restaraunts and creating their own party before alumni associations started putting on these things. Local alumni should stop trying to be party planners and just enjoy lsu football coming to their area.

Thanks. Please let me know the details. Looking forward to it. Don't get to experience good college football up north.

Are they? I heard that a couple of months ago, but it's been radio silence since then. I figured it fell through.

I would check tailmate.co as it gets closer to gameday. I only see one LSU tailgate up there at the moment, and it's for the AU game, but that could change as more people post.

If you don't like it, then don't go to the event -- nobody is demanding that you go, but don't condemn the local alumni associations for trying to put on a tailgate.

I don't always go either, but to say what you're saying is incorrect. Plus neither the Houston or DFW tailgates were $75 to get in (Houston was $50 I believe). I don't remember what the Nashville tailgate admission was.

I will condemn any local alumni group who will advertise the hell out of an event and mislead, then charge tiger fans for a piss poor "tailgate' when those fans could be adding to and enjoying the away game atmosphere.
