I'm just curious. I've been to the SECCG 3 times, but have never flown. I'm a little hesitant to book a flight this early, but the ticket prices are going up by the hour it appears.

Just an 8 hour drive from BR. Not that bad.

I book SECCG flights every August on southwest. If we don't make it I just cancel and get my points back. Finally getting to fricking use the flights again

We fly out Friday night and fly back Sunday morning to head to the Dome for the Saints game

I booked mine at a Tuscaloosa Chipotle less than an hour after the Alabama game.

hotel room isn't really an issue because you can cancel them easily, but i don't know what you have to do to cancel a flight or if that would even be an option.

I'm waiting until we beat Ole Miss, just to be safe. Won't this be the first time we've made it to Atlanta where we haven't had to wait until the last week of the regular season to find out?

southwest you can cancel any time pretty much and then use the flight credit within 12 months I believe.

Well...I'd be flying out of Alexandria. I could be almost halfway to ATL by the time I drive to NOLA to fly Southwest.

Yes, I've cancelled southwest flights many times, and re used the credits. You just need to keep the original confirmation number handy (likely will be in your email).

Also I'm not 100% positive about this, but I think you have 12 months to use the credit from the date you originally booked it. Would be best to confirm this, but just giving a heads up in case someone thought they had 12 months from when they cancelled it.
