I found out something interesting the other day. I visited winsipedia, a website that compares college football teams and tells you how many times they have played each other.

According to the site, LSU and Michigan have never played each other in football. I was pretty surprised at this, that these two storied programs have never met in the gridiron. Could this be the year that changes?

We need to schedule some Big 10 games, and a couple more against one of the independents. That's the only two conferences we have a losing record against.

Might as well throw Washington St., Iowa St. and Rutgers in there too. I could be wrong but I don't think LSU has ever played any of those three teams either.

I'm not sure why folks remain surprised at this.

LSU has never played UCLA

LSU has played USCw exactly 2 times.

LSU has played Stanford 1 time.

LSU has played Wisconsin 3 times.

LSU has never played Northwestern

LSU has played Michigan State 1 time.

etc., etc.

Those teams normally played in the Rose Bowl back in the day. LSU played in the Sugar, mostly, but also bowls in the states of Florida and Texas.

Heck, LSU has only played Oklahoma and Nebraska a combined total of 8 times.

Never played Washington State.

Defeated Iowa State in 1971 (only game).

Lost to Rutgers in 1922 (only game).

I'm ready for another big time kick off classic. Like the 2011 game Lsu vs Oregon. Lots of hype. what's our next p5 matchup to open a season?

Interesting. You would think we would have played in a bowl.

Another piece of trivia: LSU was the first SEC team to ever win in South Bend. That was back in the 80s, and was no easy feat back then.

My only LSU fun fact that most don't know:

2008 LSU vs UGA, Leading Recievers:

1 Darryl Gamble (UGA)
• 93 yards and 2 TDs
2 AJ Green (UGA)
• 89 yards and 1 TD
3 Demetrius Byrd (LSU)
• 76 yards and 0 TDs

Darryl Gamble was UGAs Middle Linebacker

Jarrett Lee was a pick-six machine.

Still impressive that a Pro Bowl QB couldn't get a Pro Bowl WR as much production through the air as their Mike Linebacker got from Jarret Lee.
