Coming into the SECT, for the previous 2 weeks, Hughes was 6/19 (.310). Reid was 1/22.

I didn’t say anything about Reid.

Right. Hughes' best stretch of the season coming out to .310 means he can hit now.

I'm guessing we're supposed to ignore that half of those hits came in one game two week ago?

Facts are facts. Don't know how you can argue that Hughes has hit better than Reid over the past three weeks.

I also said, I would rather Reid at third and Dugas at second. But you can't pretend that it is totally ridiculous to give Hughes and Broussard the start.

Facts are facts. No one is arguing this.

Facts are facts. Hughes still can't hit.

At the expense of one of the most consistent hitters on the team over the course of the season?

Sure I can.

1/22 is not a great example of consistency.

“Over the course of the season”

Convenient how you left that part out.

3/21 (Hughes statline since his 3 hit game 2 weeks ago) certainly deserves more ABs. You’re right. I don’t know how anyone could argue that.

Hughes over Reid.

CPM is playing the umpire matchup.

Doesn't want blue to mess with the strike zone because Reid knows it better than they do.

Well Reid is hitting under .250 for the season. So, not consistent when you look at the season as a whole either.

Better than Hughes’ .195. He also tripled up Hughes in RBI and leads the team in walks.

I already said you’re right man. No one can make an argument against your opinion.

Yeah man. Keep telling us all how well Hughes is swinging it.

We’re not laughing at you or anything.

Watching Hughes start over Reid is like that scene in Moneyball, watching Pena start at first.

Yeah, let's ignore that I said I think Reid should start, twice already. All I did was give the reasons why Hughes may be starting.

You sound like BenColeman in football threads. Somebody gives you numbers to back up an argument, and you get bent out of shape because what you think has to be the only option.

You gave numbers that ignore the last two games so you could post that he’s hitting over .300.

Good work.

True or false. Hughes has hit better than Reid over the past three weeks (INCLUDING THE SECT)?

He’s got one more hit over a 3 week span, and we all know which one would be more beneficial if they get “hot” and which one will be more beneficial moving forward.

Giving reasons why something may have happened doesn’t make those reasons good ones. Just FYI.

So, Hughes has hit better over the past few weeks. That's all I was saying is that it isn't totally insane that Hughes is playing right now.

4th time.....I THINK REID SHOULD BE STARTING.

It’s still a poor decision. I’m not sure why that offends you so much (I actually am I’m just not getting into it today).

When Hughes goes 0fer again today we will have the same result we would have gotten with a severely slumping Reid. Maybe he can draw a walk or something.
