People were pissed about Jimbo under Saban too. Everything else in your post really can't be disputed either. We've managed to win a ton of games though so Miles has to be doing something right no?
I think you are missing his point. He's not saying "Miles isn't doing anything right".
He's saying that Miles has consistently had holes in the program that he put in place (or kept in place), but the blame never seems to fall on him. He's saying that those very holes are the reasons we lose at least 2 games a season and that it will continue unless we start questioning Miles, himself.

no we arent.
I agree with GlenG, LSU is a good qb away from being in atlanta.
Yes we were. As bad as it was this year there were things the offense could do really well. Towards the end of the year we really got the option going with Ford and every time they rolled JJ out of the fricking pocket good things happened. Yet against Arky we ran the option TWICE and rolled JJ out 3 fricking times. We kept dropping him back to stand in the pocket where he's been uncomfortable for 3 years. Any OC with half a brain could see that.

BT,
Have you noticed that you're the ONLY person that thinks Crowtons play calling is acceptable?

Sorry, but when QB play has been the achilles heel of the offense for 3 years, the person responsible for QB performance is to blame. We have an incompetent OC that will prevent LSU from competing for any championships in the near future.

How appropriate that you have an Auburn Tag by your name.
Miles is the MOST questioned coach in the HISTORY of questioning coaches, but by all means let's get started!

We've got to operate with greater stealth on offense

I don't know. They both had a lot of apathy towards the end.

That would just be ANOTHER stupid statement on Hallman's part. He didn't have > 20k people in the stands to give him a hard time, no internet and a fan base that had just given up.
And Dinardo had two 4 win seasons and the AD practically cried when he let him go, he received no hate mail and didn't have "stupidity" segments running on ESPN
So again, nice try but just STHU, you have no clue what you are talking about.

sarcasm off...people stick up for Miles b/c they are trying to cope with it. They know he's going to be here for years to come so they've convinced themselves that's a good thing. That's my latest theory.
Not so fast my Friend....apples to oranges apply here. I stick up for miles because he's a good coach, recruiter, and his programs are clean. He also will make changes when he has to, he has in the past and will do so again. he may not make the decision that we want but he will not throw his people under the bus like Saban and Urban do.
Crowton on the other hand has not developed the QB's and the offense has become gimmicky and predictable...not all his fault, he has not had the brightest subjects to work with. This issue has been a recurring theme wherever he has been and is well documented.

Why would you fire a national-championship winning offensive coordinator after a 10-win season? You rantards are really something.
Hey Scooter....we're 10-2 in spite of Crowton's offense!

I agree with some of your comments but lets face it. Shep is over-rated. He is a bust when you consider all the hype he got.

Believe me, as a fan who survived the "well, it's time to fire another LSU coach and suffer the coaching search days again", I have had NOOOOOOOOOOO trouble coping with winning season after winning season, bowl after bowl, NR team after NR team, and the likes of 61-17.

I don't enjoy seeing anyone lose their job, but GR has been well paid to do a job that isn't being done well by anyones standards.
The only way I believe he stays is if Miles decides he can't upgrade the position without causing harm in some way to the program.

Have you watched any of our games this year?
Our offense was inept with very questionable play calling and decision making the entire year.
Yes, we were 16 points away from being undefeated because our defense and a whole bunch of luck!
Any change made at the OC position would be an immediate upgrade.
IT WILL HAPPEN! IT HAS TO HAPPEN!

You've become really annoying, do you realize that?
Listen, Miles is certainly not one of the better X's and O's coaches in America. Anyone with a basic working knowledge about football can see that. He is a CEO type coach, much like a Mack Brown at UT.
Miles is, however, a great recruiter and the talent that he puts on the field has put LSU in position to compete in games we should never have been in over the past few seasons.
Is it painful to watch? Absolutely fricking painful!
You're right that Les isn't going anywhere, so accept that fact for now. Think about this - if we'd had a decent QB this season or a semi-competent OC most of the games we played this season would not have been close.
Tulane, ULL, Rice, ULM and Duke all averaged more YPG than our offense yet we still won 10 games despite Les' "horrendous" coaching and we'll probably finish w/ a top 5 recruiting class. That combined w/ a Cotton Bowl win? I'll take it every day and twice on Sunday.
Now......if Les decides to KEEP Crowton? I will be extremely pissed off and view our CEO as someone who made a terrible decision which will more than likely cost him his job.
All that said, my view is that posters like you will never be satisfied. Bama started out as preseason #1 and lost to 3 teams in games they were favored to win. Every fanbase has their incessant whiners no matter which program we're talking about, period. The more you become an insider into ANY program in America, the more warts the football team and its' staff have.
We lost 2 games on the road by a total of 15 points to 2 extremely good teams where we were underdogs. I figured we'd lose 4 games this year and we're 10-2 against one of the toughest schedules in the country.
We are NOT Texas, USC, Notre Dame, Georgia, Clemson, Michigan, Florida or any other school that did NOT perform up to expectations. We are a QB and a coordinator (and I would like to see a new OL coach as well) from being headed in the right direction.
We overachieve on the record (though we looked sloppy doing it, no doubt) and all you do is complain about Miles day after day after day.
Oh well, if it helps to wash the sand out of your vagina grain by grain by grain keep posting about it every day.
I'll just enjoy the season and keep the faith that Miles will do the right thing and whack Crowton.

fricking hell I agree with Lonnie for once

But the problem here is that pretty much anyone will be an upgrade from Crowton.
