Is this group the best in school history on paper? I don't know who was in Shaq's or Chris Jackson's class

On paper, Randy Livingston and Ronnie Henderson were supposed to be suoerstars. Not sure the rest of their class.

Only other big time class I can think about was Ben Simmons and Blakely.

I'm not saying this invonibg group will be the best of all time, I'm just interested in knowing how this class stacks up with past teams.

Im counting Bigby Williams but even if you don't count him, it might be one of the best classes in LSU history.

Bot one superstar with a bunch of scrubs or average players. In talking about players that can be All-American within 2 years and done 1 year.

What class was better?

It’s probly Jackson’s class, it was him Stanley Roberts who in some publications was the number 1 player in the class, Maurice Williamson who was a big get 39.9ppg in Hs and a pros son and Vernell Singleton. Of course Stanley and Mo were both prop 48s and had to sit a year before they could play. All were impact payers two left after CJs Soph year and the other two were both 4 year starters. Every one of those guys started from day 1 at LSU.

I was think it Stanley, Williams in and Vernel were in the class with him. Yeah that might be the best.

For misspelling a few words because I have a busted up phone screen and typing as fast as possible? If you couldn't understand what I was saying then I apologize for your inability to process things.I can go back and edit for you if you need me to do so.

2003 was a damn good class on paper. Brandon Bass was the cornerstone and certainly delivered.

Shaqs class had Hammick who turned out to be a pro and guys like Harold Boudreaux and Lanear Burns were pretty highly rated but didn’t have the careers to match. Jackson’s class had more production and NBA guys. Jackson went 3rd overall Stanley played for a decade and started when he was in shape and I think Vernell was drafted by the Hornets or was invited to training camp but I’m not positive but he did play pro ball overseas.

Dale Brown had some sick classes during the 80’s that just didn’t pan out due do injuries, grades and disciplinary issues. I want to say John Williams, Nikita Wilson, Tito Horford and another player I can’t think of was a huge class

People aren't prepared to say this will be, but I want to go on record right now in saying yes it is and it will be. From a talent perspective, it's right there and with the development they will get under coach Wade and his staff, the productivity will back that up. People are really gonna be surprised by Darius Days. The kid is an outstanding scorer. He isn't the biggest name obviously, but he's a big difference maker from day 1.

Has LSU had a class ranked this highly?

Then again I’m not even familiar with how far class rankings go back

One of the first things I learned in English class at the Elementary level is to proof read. So that means, I would go back and fix errors before trying to have a meaningful post that people take seriously. Is doing something that is Elementary too much to ask regardless of your phone or crappy dexterity?

I believe so. I'll tell you though, I think coaching is what's gonna really help these guys live up to the potential. Also these guys are pretty well rounded players. They're not just raw athletes dominating high school. The big guys can all knock down mid range jumpers and 3s. They can score with their back to the basket or take their guy off the dribble. There are gonna be some mismatch problems for our opponents lol. Bigby Williams is a guy who sometimes gets overlooked too bc he's sitting out this year, but man he can play. He's a rim protector and enforcer in the paint. His offensive game shows potential as well. I think he will give us more there than we think right now. The talent is obviously there for each, but Wade and company will develop these guys as much as the player is willing to grow. Look at Reath, for example. he really developed nicely this season.

Team rankings are really something that came along in the age of the internet. LSU is currently ranked 4th. That would be the second highest ranked class since 2000. The 2003 class was ranked #3

Bandon Bass 5*
Regis Kounja 5*
Tack Minor 4*
Darnell Lazare 3*
Ross Neltner 3*

Obviously only Bass lived up to the billing (though Lazare was a nice role player)
