How many of the current top coaches are in serious mention for other jobs? I'm talking serious speculation, not pie-in-the sky bullshite from posters here.

Saban?
Brown?
Stoops?
Beamer?
Paterno?
Spurrier?
Tressel?

Now I know that some of you have to continue to find reasons to bash Miles along with your buddies. It's easier than actually thinking for yourselves. Standing on your own two feet takes courage.

Today? If so, the only one I've heard is Stoops possibly to USC. That's from a SC board, nothing more.

Saban?
just won a NC & has huge contract & already scratched the itch
quote:

Brown?
stupid to mention him & just finished 2nd at UT (close to retirement)
quote:

Stoops?
been mentioned a few times this off season (as has Meyer)
quote:

Beamer?
never mentioned, as far as I know (& what has he really ever done anyway?)
quote:

Paterno?
why?
quote:

Spurrier?
older, closer to retirement
quote:

Tressel?
seriously?

More telling is the number of up & coming coaches that are mentioned all the time b/c their teams perform at a consistently high level
e.g. Patterson, Peterson, Harbaugh, etc

No Miles.
There are many reasons Miles isn't mentioned (current salary, not the least of which). But it's sure surprising that he's never mentioned any more (even with the absurd cash being thrown around).

The point of my thread is exactly how ridiculous threads like the one started by dirtyred are. Just go out and find some obscute thing and turn it around into an attack on Miles. This whole fu cking thing is getting out of hand and more juvenile every day.

wouldn't be an issue if he was competing for championships still

but I do agree that this topic might be a little stretch
although it might not be a stretch to expect him to at least be mentioned once if you thought he was worth a shite

Ok, answer this. If every coach on that list was totally available for another school to hire, no buyouts, etc. , where would Miles be on that list for a team to go after for there coach?

How do you know he wasn't? Because it wasn't on some sports radio show? Just because Mike & Mike didn't say it? Just because Condon didn't know anything? Please.

Last week you could've had Pete's name up there too.

How do you know none of those others weren't? You just did exactly what you were complaining about...speculating.

I think I know what you're trying to ask. All else being equal, on that list, who would I place above Miles as a college coach?
All but Paterno, at this time.

Moron? Do you have any clue what the word means? No you don't. You don't know what a moron is do you? You just say that to make yourself sound tough. But as for your low opinion of Miles, why do you believe that? Because your friends told you? Because you read this board? Because it is suddeny cool to bash Miles? Because you have intimate detailed information regarding the workings of LSU football? Why?

I actually have cooled off and am tired of beating a dead horse bashing LM. I was merely asking a question and to answer your question, I have heard a few of those names mentioned in speculation for possibilities other places. I really dont care what you think is cool and I dont have friends on this board so that isnt why I posted. Just tried to post a thread I was thinking about that was different than the same topics that are here everyday lately.

I know there are logistical reasons whyh LM would never go anywhere, but in this day of internet rumor and speculation too many people are recklessly throwing out names hoping to get attention knowing they are fabricating facts and it says something to me about the perception of our coach nationally that he is never mentioned.

And dont kid yourself, even in these lean economic times, there will always be somebody willing to pay more if they think its worth it.
