What we saw this year will become the rule, not the exception. Nothing in Miles' history of quarterback "development" and archaic offensive philosophy leads me to believe otherwise.

Oh, yea, don't forget "the cheatin' referees". That's in vogue now as a favorite excuse.

layoff = a top 4 finish. We've done that once in the last 7 years. You expect to do it once or twice in the next 5? That would take a significant improvement in the program.
Yes, I do. Once in the next five would be right at our average.

As simple as looking ahead to next season. Everything is lining up for a good run next year; we will have a ton of players back, and our rivals will ALL lose a lot of key players.
Let your short-term frustrations over this year go, and objectively, 2015 is a strong maybe for a playoff, 2016 shapes up to a probable.

You may counter with "look at our horrible losses this year"; I'd say to that-

Miss St beat a bunch of people this year. They had, for them, a once-in-a-lifetime season. It happens. I think Miles is better than Mullins, and Miles should have a very similar situation team-wise (a great class coming of age together) in 2 seasons.

Auburn- that was expected. We were their only regular season loss, they were at home with an experienced team. We were in their cross-hairs all preseason.

Arkansas- predictable loss. We had the classic "young team coming off a bitterly disappointing loss", and they were the classic "they are playing well and will break through against someone".

Alabama- pretty good measure of talent. Yes, a bitter loss. But also, a game that showed our inexperienced talent could go up against the nation's best, and not be out-classed physically. This is one of the games I look at, that gives me hope for the next several seasons.

Of course, to have any optimism, you can't cling to all the self-pitying misery of "our coaches suck and they must go". You have to have hope that they can take the base of this season and build the next several years. I do.

You know, that tired arse "once every seven years" mantra doesn't sway anyone, nor does it make your position more solid. Literally EVERYONE knows you use once out of seven, because twice out of eight with 2 national championship games makes you look like a retard with the same arguments. You will continue to manipulate parts of the record to fit your rant. But along that line of thinking...

We are undefeated. We have won 1 out of our last 1 games.

Even though I get 24 checks a year, I have only gotten 1 in the past 3.5 weeks. Perhaps I should call someone about that because certainly something is wrong.

Those dang Oregon ducks make it to a title game (playoffs) 50% of the time! They do it twice every 4 years!

Missourri wins division championships 2 out of every 2 years. Bet the farm on them next year!

Obama has been in office for 6 years with only 1 election!!! How does that guy manipulate the system like that??

we didn't have a winning SEC record this season. We aren't even a power now.

The only certainty is that wherever we are people on this board will be bitching about it. Death, taxes, and whining on tRant.
