Impact of one player?

I've been watching football for 37 years and paying close attention for most of that time, and I can never remember one player having as much impact on a team as Jarret Lee has had for the Tigers.
Truth be told, we lose the UF game either way. But UGA? We had a fighting chance. UA? We should have beaten them by two TDs.
This kid is as bad as anything I have ever witnessed. He doesn't learn. He doesn't improve. He doesn't change. He steps up every week and boldly throws where no one has ever thrown before. And does it over and over and over.
And in doing so, I think he may end up costing Crowton his job. If I was the OC, this kid (If I couldn't put him on the bench) would never throw the ball. EVER. I would hand it right, hand it left, hand it up the middle, run the "wildcat" or let Kieland throw the option pass, but his kid SHOULD NEVER BE ALLOWED to throw a downfield pass. Bad things happen at an alarming rate when he does.
So in essence, what could have been a BCS Bowl game in a rebuilding year, turned into a trip to the CrapQuest Kwanza Bowl that no one cares about vs a team that no ones heard of. All due to one player. Its crazy. It makes you wonder how bad Andrew Hatch must look in practice?

No, you're simply not thinking clearly.
Most QBs at LSU dont have to be thrown out there during there freshman year.
You don't know how some of those guys would have fared.
The potential is there. Stafford(granted he was a true freshman) was worse than Lee his freshman year, and he is doing fine now.
Lee has potential and 2 years from now, will probably be a really good QB.

Keyword "Probably" What has he shown you that would lead you to believe w/o a shadow of doubt that he will be good? What has he done that gives you the impression that he has improved since his first start? Please, can ANYONE give me any explanation as to why so many think this kid will be any better than a mediocre QB?

which is the main reason why JJ needs to get some PT. if it doesnt work out with Lee, LSU needs a fall back plan.

For the life of me, I dont understand why JJ didn't get reps against Tulane.
I'm guessing Les is doing everything he can to not burn his redshirt.

You don't follow LSU football very much do you? Hatch isn't on the sideline for being bad in practice dumbass. He is on the sideline on crutches because of a leg fracture. I mean honestly, have you listened to anything about this football team in the past month???

Does anyone here seriously thinks an 18yr old who took snaps in high school last yr is going to be better than Lee against SEC play?

Haven't you heard ellis? On Sunday morning, a Lee woke up to a giant burning bush in his bedroom. The bush spoke to him and told him that it is to be. The bush told him that he will continue to get worse week to week. Just when you thought that he has made the worst bone headed decision you have ever seen a young qb make, he tops it the following Saturday. But then, some kind of miracle is going to happen and Lee is going to defy all logic and reality and just get better overnight. Even though he has no good performance to compare to for reference, he is going to discover out of thin air what it is that he is doing wrong and what the correct way is.
I really, really, don't understand some LSU fans. I wish that some of them would be my boss, so that I could screw up and lose business time and time again. My stress level at work would sure be an all time low, because I'd have solid job security.

Can you say.....Jamie Howard...

Big time. Can you say just like Howard lost the confidence of him from his teammates, Lee is slowly but surely doing the same thing?

Maybe JL will develop into a good QB, maybe, maybe.... But we better start hedging bets that he might not! He is now a poor, RSfreshman with NINE GAMES under his belt with little, if any, improvement. Time to start giving JJ playtime - I don't think LSU cannot afford not to! KC.

Suncoastiger is correct. Look, I was one of those defending Lee until Saturday. He is not getting any better! He still doesn't check down his receivers, has no vision of the field and cannot get out of trouble if his life depended on it.
How many plays does JJ really have to know against AL? Can you say option, option, option, perhaps 1 passing play thrown in the mix? I mean, what are they scared of, he will throw an interception?

I am not a fan of Lee either, but at some point you need to blame the coaches. Coach Miles has to put Lee on the bench and play Jefferson. If he does not, I think JJ will transfer. Hatch is still injured, so that is why he hasn't played. I know people say, JJ is a true freshman, we don't see him at practice, etc, but look at Terrell Pryor, I know JJ isn't him, but you don't know what you have until you put him out there. Give him a chance. Look at Herb Tyler. They gave him a chance late in a no good season and he did great for LSU. We have nothing left to play for, other than a bowl game, which is good, but we could have been better. I will still support the tigers.

I have a feeling that Miles is going towards that direction now.
Why not? Is that not how LSU was forced to discover that Flynn was more than just a mop up duty qb?

Blame the coaches? Everybody was praising Miles and Crowton for being geniuses last year and now they are stupid and can't make the right decisions. When Miles kicked Perriloux off the team last year, he knew what he was doing. He knew he was going to be in for a rough time. Thats why he gave him so many chances. Miles saved the program from being a joke and now you are ripping on him. You and all these a-hole fans are an embarassment to us all.

I don't think anybody is ready to throw Miles under the bus just yet. But even you have to admit that it was a poor decision to not have given Jefferson more playing time than a drive of handing off to receivers against Tulane late in the game.
We can question a decision and not be assaulting the man's character and ready to fire him. Those two things aren't one in the same.

J Lee is a kid. How bout this, lets hand the ball off when we're on our own 15 and it's 3rd and 17, let's not jump on a crucial 3rd and 1! Lee is a good QB for a freshman in the most sophisticated offense in the country. The guy does make mistakes, but is it totally his fault? Let's not have a freshman try to make big plays on 3rd down and you'll see that we'd have 1 loss. If we hand the ball off instead of throwing, we get field position and take the pressure off of our freshman QB. I would like to be able to throw on 3rd and 6 or even 3rd and 17 too, but Lee can't, so take some pressure away! Bad coaching, terrible QB play = poor confidence and ultimately LOSS

Lee is a sophomore. He's been practicing with the team and learning the playbook for 1.75 years.

I listened to the postgame show driving home Saturday and Charles made a great point. JJ has been with the team for 4 weeks in August, 10 weeks of regular season. The kid ran the spread in high school for a 5A team. If he is not ready to run a series of 7-10 plays in a package, then that is the Coaching Staff's fault. Plain and Simple. If nothing else, you make the other team prepare for the spread all week
