Nope. Wasn’t trying to infer that - it was LSU baseball talk and he simply shared that he was really good friends with Paul and a few LSU stories. One of them was Theriot/Fontenot.

I'll always support CPM. and won't call for his firing. But ill be damned if im gonna go sit out there and watch all these non conference, midweek, games that dont mean diddlypoo. They all on tv if nothing else better is on

Complacency, plateaued, lack of passion (except for the opossum lol) are all fair criticism. I would like to bring a coach with some fire and something to prove
That being said, obviously Mainieri is knowledgeable. He even said the pitching would have to carry us in the beginning of the season. He was correct. This team is also talented. I say we win another Natty and Paul will get tenure.

How about when he took the train wreck he inherited from Smoke a won a CWS in 3 years?
How the 6 SEC Tourney titles which is 3 times the number of titles of the Vandy and Florida or 4 regular season titles and 5 CWS appearances (only Florida has more).
It can certainly be argued that the program has lost some shine in the past two seasons and some of that could be due to Paul’s recruiting and coaching decisions but Mainieri hasn’t forgotten how to coach.
