I'm not sure who all the players are but I'd say the SEC, NCAA, ESPN, BRYANT BANK, SOME APPAREL COMPANIES are involved to name a few. It's all about the money and bama is the cash cow.

Hell yes. The state of alabama is a cesspool of corruption.

You’re really going to call out another state’s politicians for being corrupt? Are you from LA? Ever read any books about LA politics?

All of that is certainly possible...but I think Hanagriff said it best last night. I'll paraphrase, though it's probably been posted here already.

Essentially, it doesn't require any big conspiracy at this point. It's built into the system. There is a built in bias. All it takes to understand this is to take a brief second and image the SEC offices located in, say...Metarie. Much of the staff would be staffed by LSU fans...locals who work there. Everyone that works there would be subjected to local sports talk radio and TV that focuses primarily on LSU. As football season approaches every fall, everywhere you turn you'd be inundated with positive LSU imagery. This is BEFORE we even talk about what most would think if the head of officials was an LSU alumnus, instead of Steve Shaw...who is actually an Alabama Alumnus.

Nobody assumes that system would be devoid of bias...don't let anyone fool you into think that worrying about it in this case makes you some conspiracy theorist.

The SEC offices being in Birmingham create a very real Bama privilege that all other SEC programs must live under. None of that makes them NOT the historically best program in the league, or a great team now who are coached by arguably the greatest college football coach of all time. But it does mean that the time has LONG past to stop pretending that it's beneficial to anyone other than UA to have the SEC offices located in Birmingham. LSU is a fricking founding member of the SEC...let's start acting like it and demand accountability from our conference.

Centrally located? What does that matter...are we all walking there or something? Would it not be easier for everyone in the SEC to get to Atlanta than Birmingham in 2018?

Louisiana is bad, but Alabama is on a completely different level. It is quite possibly the most corrupt state government in the country.

You may find this to be an interesting read.

Most corrupt states

Though to be fair about it... arguing about the degree of state corruption is not a good thing. How much is bad enough?

Surprised this statement hasn't come back to haunt her in the gubernatorial race at least to my knowledge, Walt really needs to start using that against her and hyping that up instead of doubling down on the stupid debate crap then again Alabama's thriving economically under her so not much reason to upset the apple cart in that regard plus she's doing well in the polls too

If you take that into account, anything is possible.

Her biggest corporate supporter was Saban Enterprises. Seriously.

We agree on this point. Any amount is bad. Doesn't matter that one state my catch a few more for a couple of years.

Hmmm....in the last four years.... Governor forced to resign but his multitude of criminal activity swept under rug. Speaker of the House convicted of a dozen or so ethics violations. A state rep admitted to taking bribes from From coal company and it's lawyer, who were later convicted. The State Personnel director committed perjury in order to steal more than $500 million dollars from State employees....while the judge and the Montgomery county da (where the judges son works) looked the other way. The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court was kicked off the bench for the second time. The current governor (at least nominally) said that she believed women who were making claims against a senate candidate.....yet still endorsed the candidate One state rep pled guilty to wire fraud Two others are under indictment for taking bribes from a medical company Hell yes. The state of alabama is a cesspool of corruption.

Maybe the US Attorney General will investigate. Jeff Sessions should be objective, right? I do wonder if you could file a civil RICO, get a friendly judge, and do some discovery.

Jeff Sessions highest ranked public official Gump. Condolezza Rice being on CFB playoff selection committee a first years ago...Saban being Hillary supporter. NWO animals!!! connect the dots...
