I made a 29 on my ACT first try (which is a 1300 SAT) and was 40th in my class. All of these tests are bullshite. They don't test what you "learned" as much as your ability to perform under pressure. Of course, I'm not stupid, I just slept and never did my assignments.

Ability to perform under pressure is a significant aspect of college success. GPA is also significant, as it's generally a measure of studiousness.

I'm pretty sure it is a 3.5 and a 1250 out of 1600 on the SAT(not sure about ACT) to get the golden oaks scholarship which pays for pretty much everything.

thanks for posting the scholar link. as a proud new father of a six week old boy in texas, i know now what goals to set for him to so he can geaux to lsu when the time comes...if he wants to of coarse

Major in whatever you're interested in, and whatever you think you'll succeed in. Medical schools won't care what you majored in. Just be sure to take the prequisites for whatever medical schools you plan on applying to eventually.

I know, I know I can major in interpretive dance and still get into medical school No, I'm kidding, thanks for the advice, but I've heard that from about 7 different college counselors. I'm one of those really annoying people who will party and sleep all weekend and then get an A on the calculus exam monday morning without even opening the book. At some point I'll need to start acting like a nerd, because being lazy is probably the only thing that's going to stop me. But I'm in anatomy right now and I LOVE it, which is more than I can say for the rest of the class.

You sound like me in high school. You're going to need to make a committed effort to improve your habits in college (and I know that I sound preachy with that ).

Goint to LSU for both undergrad and grad was the greatest time of my life. There is so much more to the college experience than the classroom education.

I wish you luck on the journey on which you are about to take.

Must be pretty smart if you're close to getting a full scholarship, especially from out-of-state

a 29 on the ACT is not so easy. Don't know what percentile a 29 equates to, but it's pretty high.
