The two walk-ons who were kicking in the spring game were both more highly regarded prospects than Kjellsten.

am still trying to forget Gaudet. damn kid missed more XPs than any kicker I have ever seen

Yeah, I would have cited Gaudet, but I know the guy and he's actually really cool so I felt bad.
frick Richey, though. I hated him at LSU.

Everyone calm down. This guy knows Hairston.
But I still think we should be fine, no need to scream to the presses on this one

Yes, Jasper was great. Has he been given a good opportunity yet to make an NFL team as a kicker?
I hope Hairston can do the job, esp. on long field goals. We know he does very well on kickoffs.
If we are stuck with those who kicked in the spring game, I would also be concerned. Not sure if that is the case & not sure why Hairston did not get to attempt the longer field goals.

you must be real young. We've had some bad spells
I remember some really bad spells, but in the last 8-10 years we've had a really nice run of good kickers.

They'll be alright, plus the walk on from Lake Charles will be in the mix as well.

or you must not have read his post. he said many years, not ever. our last few kickers have been some of the best in LSU history. Our special teams in general have been fantastic in every phase pretty much every year Les has been at LSU

nor do i. kid always had a cannon for a leg, but his accuracy was laughably bad. i guess whatever mental block he had in college was overcome in the league.

Alleman
Jasper
David

The last 10 years haven't been bad.

Alleman was nowhere close to Josh Jasper. IMO, Jasper was better than DA or Colt David
Alleman was the worst kicker we've had in a decade (speaking only of his 2012 season). Short leg, and only decent accuracy. That said, he was average to above average, but we've had really good kicking since Corbello.
