As long as he doesn’t play in more than 4 games next season, he can redshirt next year. Same as this year.
Still a gamble, especially if MB gets injured in first half of season or completely sucks, but it is the only argument that is a legitimate argument for maybe allowing Nuss to burn this years redshirt in the Texas Bowl…because if everything goes to plan, it is accurate that he could redshirt next year.

I do believe he starts and leads the LSU Tigers to a solid 31 - 17 victory.
He can always redshirt later in his career if needed. Besides, he is a competitor, he is not hurt, and there is no way he is not going to play in the only bowl game on TV tonight.

It’s not out of the realm of possibility. They can play 4 games and not lose a Redshirt. That’s 8 games that can be played by a backup without burning either red shirt.
