i agree. but you know, and i know, voters will, AT THE LEAST, put arkansas over LSU that week
Disagree. Possible yes but this late in the season and knowing what their vote means I don't think many voters do the have to put them below the team they lost to
Posted on 11/19/11 at 10:51 am to jacks40
that would be pure. insanity.
Posted on 11/19/11 at 10:53 am to SlowFlowPro
Your logic is slightly flawed though. We fell to 7 bc there were 6 teams ahead of us with 1 loss. This year every team would have 1 loss and we'd have wins over the top 2 one loss teams.

How about MSU just ends this 3-way tie shite today with a win over Arky ? I'm calling it now. Karma loves LSU.
Since we are talking crazy how bout an iron bowl win for Auburn too?

Only way we drop to 6 would be a blow out loss to Arky. A close loss and we fall no worse than 4. The gap will be tiny. We'll have a big edge in the computers still. I like our chances.

it was just an example. we almost assuredly wouldn't fall that far
but 2 of those teams had 2 losses(VT, UGA), and we had beaten one (VT)

i think you underestimate the impact of the west coast vote on Oregon, and the pollsters' infinite love for OU every year
but IN THAT SCENARIO where arky ends up ranked is huge. if it is #1 Bama, #2 arky, then that would make things spicy

even if they go to the SECCG and win?
I thought we were talking about LSU losing to UGA.
It is unlikely Bama gets to the SECCG. LSU would have to finish 3rd of the 3 in the 3-way tie and LSU's computer ranking is so much stronger than either it seems improbable.
Actually, this scenario isn't so far fetched, and it's the one scenario wher the SEC could get three teams in the BCS.

So the voters will ignore the fact we beat Oregon.

3 teams?
That is correct. Go read the rules on the BCS website.

Right. Just like they will ignore the fact that Oregon got the shite kicked out of them by a suspension-depleted LSU while we took LSU to overtime.

Rules say that if there are two non-champion teams in the BCSCG from the same conference, the champion of that conference still goes to the bowl that the conference is cotracted with.

Suspension depleted? Calm down. I'm fine with making a Bama over Oregon argument but don't just say stupid stuff.

shite UO's suspensions will probably tip their favor in the mind's of voters. BE CAREFUL BAMATARDS

LSUMatt backs up his opinion with FACTS AND MATH. LSU will still be in the championship with 1 loss.
matt is counting on the computers. the humans get 2/3rds and they can move a team waaay down after a loss, to enforce their preferences.
no one said it makes sense or is fair.
