Were your bosses constantly calling you shite? For every conceivable reason?

If LSU is worth $900MM, how much were the companies you worked for worth? Saying "if I didn't improve..." clearly implies that you made mistakes (everyone does, we're all human) and were given chances to correct them. Did your employers bitch-out and fire people for every mistake? You imply that they didn't, so why don't you extend the same consideration to players?

We all see the missed passes, but some of us realize that he's doing the best he can, and the coaches think he's the best option. So, you're bitching-out a guy who is presumably trying his hardest. Please explain how that's constructive. Do you actually believe he's going to work harder because of some internet warrior?

It doesn't hurt my feelings because my life and self-esteem aren't wrapped up in a bunch of 18-22 year olds playing a game. If LSU wins five straight NCs or has five straight losing seasons, it won't affect my life one iota. Why are you so wrapped up in it that you have to attack a bunch of young men working their asses off to get better?

Finally, if you think the constant badgering doesn't hurt the program, you and your cohorts are idiots.

No and I am not calling DE shite either. I've said he is not that good of a QB which is 100% true.

Several Billion, The ship I worked on was worth over $600 million.

No but as a supervisor It was my job to determine if the employee was good at his job, trainable or needed to be replaced. It was my Supervisors job to judge me the same way. That's life man.

The point is this is big boy football. If you can't get the job done then you are or should be replaced. I'm not sure why it's so hard for you to understand. DE misses wide open targets every game. We should have won the Troy game and we should have beaten FU by 2 touchdowns. The kid just don't have it to be a good QB in the SEC. He is below average and will cost us more games.

I haven't attacked, anyone all I have said is the truth, I bet DE would say the very same thing about his performances but at this point he is our only option to run the offense until Brennan is ready to go.

He proved that he can't beat Moo St or Troy. That is enough for me to see....

Had Brennan been an EE, things may be different. With OL issues, DE is our best option. As others have mentioned, playing big games with limited experience can ruin a QB.

We are limited at QB, but not terrible. Win with D, running, smart QB play w/o turnovers.

You sound like an Orgeron fan. I am an LSU fan and want to see LSU succeed not lose to Troy. How did your guy Etling play in that game? I remember the team being down 17-0 before he was replaced. I call it like I see it, sorry if it hurt anybody's feelings but it's my opinion. This team will be much better next year with Brennan/Narcisse behind center.

I didn't notice that you were not the OP I thought I was responding to. For that, I apologize.

However, I don't see where the value of an enterprise has anything to do with calling people names. If you were a supervisor, I don't see how you can justify or defend that from anyone. Where's the cutoff? How big or small does an enterprise have to be before that becomes acceptable behavior?

Of course, a player should be benched if he's not getting the job done, IF THERE IS A BETTER OPTION. In this case, there doesn't seem to be,

At any rate, anyone who hides behind a computer monitor and calls other people shite needs a serious look in the mirror.

Lets clear this BS up about the fans losing their shite if O loses a game. That is not true at all. The fans lost their shite because O lost HORRIBLY to Miss St and Troy and the team looked terrible in all games except BYU. What gets the fans riled up is when we see a team quit for 4 quarters and the HC just standing on the sideline looking confused. No one is gonna get upset if LSU loses to Auburn or Alabama. All we ask is effort in every game.

I'm not a fan of Orgeron or Etling. I've never met either and likely never will. And I want LSU to win, though perhaps not as much as some others.

Etling is not my guy. If the coaches think Brennan or anyone else is better, then they should certainly put him in, but they apparently believe Etling is a better choice.

You haven't hurt my feelings because I'm not the player.

It does piss me off when internet big guys think they can insult 18-22 year old students who are doing the best they can to play a game.

Your attitude, and those of others, seems to be that you "deserve" a winning team and anyone who doesn't give it to you is "shite." Right? Just like a three-year old kicking and screaming in Walmart because mamma won't buy some toy.

Here are some clues. Other teams have good coaches. Other teams have good facilities. Other teams have good players. Other teams want to win just as badly and are trying just as hard. No team wins every game, not even the evil empire a couple of states over. Most go through cycles. The only thing you deserve is a team that tries hard! As long as the coaches and players are trying, they deserve a fair chance to succeed, and that's more than half a season.

It doesn't matter whether you or anyone or everyone else hate Orgeron and Alleva: Orgeron has the job and he's not going away for at least two years, no matter how much you bitch.

So, why try so hard to damage the program out of some silly, juvenile spite?

Some opinions are better left unsaid. Please explain how and why it's ever acceptable to call someone shite. And please let us know if you would say it to Etling's face.

If we lose to Auburn, then Coach should consider getting Brennan some good experience the rest of the season - maybe give Brennan something like 25% of the snaps.

In any case, at the first sign of pressure against the Gumps, Danny Etling will fold like a cheap suit.

Says the guy who is criticizing others.

Dude just because someone is critical of the way LSU is playing and the product on the field doesn't mean they are not real LSU fans, they don't have jobs, are idiots, blah, blah, blah.

While some of the criticism might get out of hand, remember this is not your grandmother's knitting message board, it is the Tiger Rant! Also, the players bring some of this on themselves with their social media junk. If they are big enough to dish it out they should be big enough to take it. They want the positive attention without the negative but when the spotlight shines, it lights up whatever is there, good or bad.

What happened to these "savages" we heard about before the season began?

It doesn't matter if any of us ever tried to do what Etling does, he simply is not that good of a quarterback at this level. Too many bought into those "bombs" he threw vs BYU and Chattanooga to mean we had a passing attack but those passes don't work vs SEC defenses. He won't have the time and the defenders will pick those off. We still do not have an intermediate passing game.

Is Etling a good kid and a tough Tiger? Absolutely, but that doesn't change the fact that he is not a championship caliber QB and it shows when the coaches don't trust him. He has yet to put the team on his shoulders and take the team to victory.

At the end of the day

So that means play a shite QB this year causing a shite year. Now next year Brennan really wouldn't have SEC game experience and we will be back to square one again.

I'm starting to think this does not matter at all. Anthony Jennings had a full season under his belt, and the next season he was still terrible.

Brandon Harris played a full year, and the next year he was still completely terrible.

After playing all of last year, Etling look like he has made no progress.

Meanwhile, Fromm, from UGA is a true freshmen already looking like one of the best qbs in the SEC.

If Brennan is as good as advertised, whether he plays this season or not will not matter at all towards his career. Either he has it or not.

Did you forget the winning TD pass with one second left to win Auburn game last year ..... pretty clutch if you ask me.....but Commissioner Stanky's ref said no human can hike ball with one second left .... except the Bama offense I'm sure can do it with Stanky's approval

We need to talk to Troy about this.

Consider this: he's not comfortable in the offense yet, is thinking too much, everyone breaks the huddle and he's still looking at his wristband, re-reading the play to himself, and he's had trouble identifying zone vs man

There's a difference between criticizing someone and calling him "shite."

I haven't seen anything about Etling calling himself or anyone else anything on message boards. Did I miss something?

Yes, I did criticize others. If they're going to call a college kid "shite," maybe they need to learn how it feels. If you have a problem with that, then bite me.

Everybody talks about the last play, and say that costs us the auburn game. In reality it was Etling who cost lsu that game and here's why. If u go back and watch that final drive, there's a sequence of plays that lsu would've won the game. The first two plays they lined up Malachi in the slot, both times nobody lined up in front of him. Both plays he runs up the seam uncovered, that would've gone for an easy touchdown. The third play Malachi is covered by the safety and beats him on a post, another easy score. On all three plays, Etling only looks right and leave the pocket early. It's easy to blame receivers or the line, but some of it is Etling. I see a lot off people say the recievers aren't getting separation, but if the receivers are 6'6, 6'5,6'4,'6'3 they don't need much separation. Just put the ball where only your receiver can get it. Example: last year Mike Williams killed bama. Not because he was fast and always open, but Deshaun Watson put where only he could catch it. Is it wrong for me to want that from a 5th year senior quarterback, who has sec experience
