We have the best, Craziest DL coach in the nation. I want as many of his beasts on the field as possible.

So why wouldnt Valentine in a 3-3-5 or 3-2-6 be fun to watch as well?
We are a 4-3 based team, always have been always will be IMO. The 3 man fronts are hybrid to get out athletes on the field, which is good in situations...

I think you have to adapt to whatever team you're playing against.

Correct.

And we have no idea what Valentine or CG3 are.

And we already struggled in the middle this past season in a 4 man front. Going to a 3-4 would make us that much weaker.

Posted this yesterday when someone asked abou tmoving to a 34

quote:

Valentine could play the nose. The linebackers is where it gets tough

End: Godchaux/Bain
Nose: Valentine
End: LaCouture/Herron
OLB: Bower/Feist
ILB: Garrett/Louis
ILB: Beckwith
OLB: Teuhema/Clark/Neal/Patterson

Where do guys like Debo and Duke Riley play?

We could at least disguise our lack of nose tackles by having bigger 34 ends like Bain LaCouture etc on the outside

Can Bower and Clark play well standing up?

Lots of questions but could be pulled off. If we were to switch to a 34 with the new DC hire, I would assume we would still play a good amount of 43 in the mean time as it takes a couple classes to fully transition

don't have the LB's to pull of a 3-4

This was my first thought. We don't have the LBs for the 4-3 much less the 3-4. Might make it more attractive for future LB prospects, but int he short term, I don't see how we could change.

Louisiana has always been good at producing DLine and Defensive backs.

Louisiana has been very bad at producing linebackers.

WHy move to a 3-4 with our state's talent? That's like Wisconsin getting away from the run with their Olinemen the state produces. Not very smart.
