the one that Saban LSU lost to Iowa on the last play haunts me to this day.

And he's supposed to be the great DB coach.

I did not expect LSU to beat Alabama. I thought that Bama was like a wild animal and it was a fricking miracle that LSU stopped them in the first game. So I was not surprised LSU lost.
I was DISAPPOINTED that JL did not start the 2nd half, since JJ did not do shite. My family watched it with me. THEY were disappointed that JL did not play in the 2nd half, particularly after Bama got another field goal in the 2nd half.
That GALLS me to this day. Not that they lost, but that Les could not or would not try another tack.

To try to answer the question, I guess it will take most of the sting away, yes. not 100%. Like I said, I can still see the end of the Iowa game in my head. Memories. Some are great. Some not. Sod coming up, in that game vs State Penn.

Yes! If we beat FUSC in the game it would kill multiple birds with one stone! Then land the number 1 class for next year in recruiting I would be healed. As it stands our goddam baseball team is a dog the basketball program is garbage and our football team has had more let downs than the buffalo bills. I actually feel like a goddam bills fan.

Nothing CLM can ever do will make up for the performance of 1/9/12, and that is the issue. Not the loss, but the "PERFORMANCE"! Because we all know, the potential will always be there for another such performance.

You will never see LSU given the same opportunity Bama was given . The fact that Bama got a BCS Championship handed to them after losing to us earlier in the season will always suck .

This.

LSU fans need to start dealing with this new found "issue" now.

We have to beat them twice in a season, which is very diffucult to do.

They only have to beat us once to eliminate us, whether that is in November or January.

CFB is back to the stone age again. Get ready for a USC vs Bama MNC game every year being pushed by the network that now runs CFB. All these teams have to do is finish third in their conference.

Bama losing to LSU in November is now a luxury for them. Saves them from having to win the SEC and gives them a week off.

I think the sting will be taken away once we are rolling along at about 8-0, dominating once again. And Mett has cemented himself as the Mettsiah we all expect him to be....

It wont take till the end of the season for everyone to be excited again and back on the wagon, provided we look good along the way.

No...

Not unless LSU plays Bama and beats them in this season's NC.

Beating Bama at home during regular season play is NOTHING compared to losing in your own backyard to Bama in the NC.

It will mean we won the 2013 NC.

It will also still mean that our stubborn coach got bitched slapped by Saban.

Miss handling the Ole Miss game
The Tenn game mess
The NC game total screw up

These will stick in my head until I am in the dirt bed.

Getting to NC in 2013 will be extremely difficult and I doubt we will make it, however if we do and we win it ... it will also be a lasting memory like 03, 07. They however cannot cancel each other out. I hope for the sake of the program we get there again.

Beating the hell out of Bama at home this year would be really really sweet especially if it knocks them out of the NC game like we did in 2010.

yes, it will make me feel better. I know it will only stir up the "what ifs" on this board though.

I doubt it. The Bills lost 4 NFL championship games in a row.
and then after each loss, they had to live in western NY state.

very similar to when Minnesota lost 4 NFL championship games in a row.

It sucks that we lost but the sting is gone already. I just want a good season next year.

Of course it would.

But the 'sting' is not that we just 'lost', but that we looked like shite doing it.

Well, things fell the Bama way this year cause other teams messed up...kinda like they fell for us in 07.

I think with the advent of the "super conferences" and the remarkable success of the SEC, this might play out more and more.

If you have one "good" L, you got hope.

The guys who have to be really kicking themselves is OSU...what a shame for them.
