Ya, a 4-2 BCS record is just awful.

EDIT: With a national championship...

LOL well atleast you did not extend it back to the 60's

Bottom line, you were given an opportunity twice and got wallopped by teams with inferior records (illustrating how bogus your schedule was).

If you win out, you will be ahead of everyone but an undefeated SEC team (if there is one). But no breathing voter is going to ignore what the past 2 years has made so terribly obvious.

If t0SU or USC goes undefeated that means that each team would have played one tough game all year

As of right now, we've got...

#2 Southern Cal
#12 Wisconsin
#19 Illinois
#22 Penn State
#24 Michigan
on our schedule.
I don't know why everyone assumes Ohio State will just walk through the Big10. Granted, I think there's a good chance that we will go undefeated in the Big10, but that doesn't mean we're going to walk over our schedule as everyone assumes.

It's the exact opposite. SOS will keep us out! Last year, this argument was in our favor, but this year, we will lose almost any SOS comparisons!!!

+1

This is why we would need to go undefeated. The number of ranked opponents should carry the SOS. I don't think a 2-loss LSU, UGA, FL, AU would beat out a 1-loss Mizz, WVU, OSU, OU, USC. I think that is more of a reality. Even last year, we had a tougher SOS, but if WVU beat Pitt, then we would have played Hawaii in the Sugar.

Those teams suck. I'm sorry but they are all low in the top 25 + it is the yanks that rank them. The Big 10 is weak & I wish LSU had that schedule. It is what it is but that schedule is going to make for another blow-out of a BCS title game. I am just tired of watching the Buckeyes get in because they are in a joke of a conf.

What the Big 10 needs is the Bucks losing the Big Ten yet both the Big 10 champ and Buckeyes winning BCS bowl games.

Then do your own top 25.

Would your top 12 be the entire SEC?

Or the Buckeyes winning the Big10 and MNC while the #2 team plays in the Rose and wins it

I think he was trying to come up suggestions that were realistic... not the crying joke that the country has been exposed to for the past 2 years.

:omg:

It just wouldn't be August with out rantards freaking out over how some team in another conference with an "easy" schedule will go undefeated and keep LSU or some other SEC team out of the BCS CG.

Well, that running joke has owned the Big10 the past few years....

a conference that is running at .500 with the SEC in bowls the past two years....

Take out "the running joke" Ohio State and you're at less than .500.

Hypothetical to the future vs the proven fact you guys have skated for 2 years until having to play a real team from a real conference. I enjoy speculating on the future, doesnt mean I ignore the current and recent past.

If you think the voters are going to take an undefeated OSU team over an undefeated SEC team after the beatings you guys have taken... then you are dreaming.

that's only happened once. The most frequent scenario is 1 undefeated team and 2 or 3 with 1 loss. Or 2 undefeated teams.

I'd take that bet every day of the week, because it means that OSU is the Big10 champs and have beaten (most likely) the Pac10 champs too. The past two seasons have zero relevance for this season much to the SEC fans chagrin...see if the computers take last season into account.

Ofcourse they have.. and giving they are a joke, that tells us all we need to know about the rest of the conference.

The bottom line is this, in the past two years, the Big 10 has lost BCS bowls by the scores of 49-17, 38-24, 32-18 and 41-14. On the flip side the SEC has won 38-24, 41-10, 41-14 and 41-14.

To make is easier, the Big 10 is an aggregate loss 160-73, with the SEC an aggregate win of 161-62.

So yeah, I am pretty comfortable arguing an undefeated SEC team over an undefeated team from a joke of a conference.

You also thought your team would be competitive on Jan 8 and we saw how that worked out.

Computers make up what percentage of the total vote? And going into the final weekend last year, werent you guys ranked behind the current Big 12 Leader and Freaking Big East champ (with the same 1 loss record at the time (Mizz. and WV). Yes, a one loss OSU was behind a big east team and a big 12 team that was not favored in their championship game.

That lack of respect (well warranted) was due in large part to the previous season's embarassment.

Trust me, when the final vote is cast, the majority are not going to have amnesia

what does it say about the SEC teams that have lost to Big 11 teams in bowls the last 2 years? It was Florida that lost to UM, not Vandy.

I don't think even the biggest Big 11 homer would argue that the Big 11 is stronger than the SEC, but that doesn't mean the Big 11 is the MAC or CUSA.
