If this team played with just half the heart and grit of Burrow

We sure as hell wouldn't be 2-3 right now. Lack of leadership, fire, and accountability is killing this team. Damn I miss Joe.

Burrow when questioned about staying in the game during Steelers blowout, even after ankle injury from a hit, and going down the sideline to tell his Bengals teammates that he wasn't going to quit on them:
quote:

I’m not a quitter. I’m not going out of the game. Doesn’t matter if we’re down 100, down 10, down 20. I’m not going out.

Burrow after blaming himself for the loss, when asked if his rolled ankle impacted his performance:
quote:

It doesn't matter. I missed throws. That's all it came down to.

Flimsy excuse
Not allowed by LSU fans for an Ensminger coached team.

Agreed. Seems like we have lost that edge, grit, WANT (per Les). With everything going on and gonna get worse, I feel like I have lost all those things too. I’m the biggest LSU fan but I find myself not really even caring that we haven’t played last few weeks.

Am I alone?

Doesn’t hurt me. I’m not the one whining non-stop because a team that lost 16 starters, then had three of its best players opt out, then lost its QB and starting left tackle, is losing.

It’s almost a JV team. They are not losing because they have no heart. They are losing because of a massive shortage of experienced talent. And it’s sad that a bunch of pussies on a message board are insulting them non-stop.

Yeah, not really fair to expect the mentality of the literal GOAT to be present in such a young team. The story of Joe Burrow and the 2019 LSU Tigers was one best enjoyed while we were experiencing it in real time. I hope all of us appreciated that greatness because that's not likely to ever happen again.

I get it. They have lost a ton of talent. I saw the list a few weeks ago and it was eye opening. However with how we have recruited over last 3 years we should be at least COMPETIVE this many games into the season. Seems like we are getting worse. Dunno

"Massive shortage of experienced talent" to lose to f'ing shitty Missouri and get the worst skull crushing in series history against Auburn???

Talent is not lacking enough to justify (out of 126 FBS teams) ranking:
- 113th in Total Defense (478.6 yds/game)
- 123rd in Passing Yards Allowed (335.2 yds/game)

Shall I go on? You're the pussy. Quit making excuses.

This, losing 1/2 of their OC (at least the cutting edge one), and completely changing the defensive philosophy in one truncated off-season.

Go figure...

Not being able to score against mizzou from inside the 3 with 4 plays really sucked. I knew then that this was gonna be a long year. I thought the state game was just first game shite, but nope. We are just so young and inexperienced and lost so much from last year's team. Next year will be a different story.
