10-2 and 2nd in the SEC West behind the defending National Championship.
Other than where they land in the bowl game, which even the BCS bowls are irrelevant for anything other than money, it was a successful season.
As far as the bowl game, where should LSU be and who should they be in front of??
The SEC Champions?
The 2nd place SEC team?
The 1 loss Florida that was still vying for a National Championship on the last day of the season?
LSU still has a shot at the Cotton Bowl, but when it comes down to the committee, who does the reps take?
An A&M team that will sell an assload of hotel rooms and tickets?
...or an LSU team thats been there 2 times in the last year and will be there AGAIN in August?
10 wins. Everyone wants a change but no one can come out and say how or who this coaching staff will be replaced with......
I seriously hate all of you that do nothing but downplay the success this team has had in the last 2-3 years.

similar to 2010. good record but not playing for any championships much less a BCS bowl game at the least. again, this Bama game will continue to basically be our season going forward unless we can go 11-1 and be ranked#4 once the playoffs start.

oh, and I realize I stepped in the lion's den in this thread with nothing but crying Les haters.
But it is what it is.
There's 2 spots that matter in every season. That's it. Cry about the BCS. Cry about the bowl selections. They're ALL irrelevant except the one that's playing in Miami.
In a couple of years though, it'll all be changed. Thank god.

Who gives a frick if we go to the vagisil bowl or the weed eater bowl? There's only one that counts and we ain't going. Another thing you sunshine pumpers aren't thinking about. aTm. They go 10-2 in their first sec season. We don't just have Alabama to worry about now in the west and aTm will get better. Lets see how Leslie handles the next few years... Meanwhile enjoy the chicken fricker bowl.

This does not happen in a vacuum. Team/coaching performance dictates who gets those coveted slots.
The point here is that but for completely boneheaded coaching, LSU would have one of those two slots.

They'd still have to beat a HOT UGA team.
A team that I think EVERYONE is overlooking vs. Bama. Everyone has already given Bama their ticket. I don't think it's that easy.

I just don't understand all the waling and gnashing of teeth about the bowl game. If you're not in the BCS championship game, what difference does it make WHAT bowl you play in? I just want to go to a bowl game that's a good matchup team-wise and a great city. The Cotton Bowl two seasons ago was great! I had a ball. When I went to the Chik-Fil-A bowl back when we played Miami, I had a great time there too. I'll be happy with just about any of the bowls mentioned (Chik-Fil-A, Capitol One, Cotton) that we may find ourselves in. Atlanta is a great city........I'd have a ball in Orlando........and Jerry World is an awesome venue.

All things consider, I am happy with 10-2 with our schedule but Les really needs to take a close look at the offense Coaches! Lsu simply has too much talent on offense but sometimes very poor play calling at the wrong time . Sometimes I wonder what game the coaches are watching. I agree with Dandy Don & think Les needs to consider this problem!

well i am sure plenty would have been elated had we played for a championship, win or lose.....in atlanta, miami, etc.
after the bcs bowls the other bowls are garbage and mean nothing. honestly i do not even know if the BCS bowls mean that much anymore. they are not real championships either technically.
bring on the playoffs. way past time. whether fair or not les needs to realize with a tough bama program that game will probably be his doing or undoing going forward. they are our main road block. TAMU looked very good their first year also

LSU has always recruited out of Texas. When A&M gets the ball rolling, look out. It happened in the late 80's/early 90's - last time A&M was truly a force to be reckoned with. LSU's ducking out of an agreement to extend the contract proves it.

If Georgia beats Bama there is a good chance the cap one takes us to avoid the BAMA-Michigan rematch however they could take A&M which still puts us in the chicken. Cotton and outback are out in my opinion

ummm, the point is how many years in a row would you accept 10-2 and no championships? 4? 5? 6? soon here this place would blow up like Chernobyl because NO CHAMPIONSHIPS WERE WON. Then the record would be as useless as tits on a boar hog. Basically all bowl games are useless if you are not playing for a championship. EVen the so called BCS bowl games are not what they used to be.

and not that i think we would go that long without a championship but it is something to think about. Then the ones who just tout the record would think differently. That is all i am saying on that.
