If the SEC is really willing to kick LSU out over THIS, maybe LSU has outgrown the SEC

I honestly cannot believe we have gotten to the point where the sec is even considering kicking LSU out of the conference over this. Not a fine. Not fighting it out in court. Not changing the rules after the season. Actually kicking out one of the founding members of the SEC. Are the serious?! And let’s get one thing straight. LSU is not Missouri. We aren’t some school the SEC picked up during expansion that could disappear tomorrow and nobody would notice. LSU helped build this conference. We’ve been here since 1933 and have spent almost a century adding value to the SEC brand. Football national championships, baseball national championships, basketball, gymnastics, track, Tiger Stadium, one of the biggest and most passionate fanbases in the country, TV ratings, road attendance, national relevance. LSU has made the SEC a hell of a lot of money over the years.

And now we’re talking about throwing LSU out because they challenged an eligibility rule? That’s completely insane. Especially considering LSU DIDN’T EVEN PLAY THESE GUYS AGAINST CLEMSON. We just beat the shite out of Clemson 51-10 without them. So spare me the “competitive integrity” pearl clutching like LSU snuck Patrick Mahomes onto the field wearing purple and gold. And I keep hearing that 15 other schools are supposedly united against LSU like that’s proof LSU is obviously wrong. Maybe. Or maybe 15 schools watched LSU find an avenue they didn’t pursue and now they’re scared shitless about where it could lead. If LSU is so obviously, unquestionably wrong, why all of this? Lawsuits, emergency meetings, massive penalties, suspensions and now the nuclear option of removing a school that’s been in this conference for 93 years? For TWO PLAYERS? Come on.

College football has spent the last decade changing the rules every 15 minutes. NIL, transfer portal, unlimited transfers, revenue sharing, roster changes, eligibility lawsuits. Half the shite happening in college football today would’ve gotten a program hammered by the NCAA 10 years ago. LSU decided to push the envelope in the middle of all that chaos and apparently the response is “maybe we should kick LSU out.” bullshite. And maybe that’s what this is actually about. Not two football players. LSU told the SEC no. LSU went to court. LSU won a ruling and instead of falling back in line and kissing the ring, LSU kept fighting. THAT seems to be what has everybody so pissed off.

So if the other schools really want LSU gone, fine. Vote us out. But don’t pretend LSU leaves and the SEC just shrugs its shoulders like they lost Vanderbilt’s women’s bowling team. LSU would have options, and wherever LSU football, LSU baseball and this fanbase goes, a shitload of eyeballs and money are going with it. Before these presidents get too excited about teaching LSU a lesson, they might want to think about what exactly they’re voting to lose. LSU helped make the SEC what it is. The SEC damn sure did not make LSU.

Bunch of fricking pussies.
