What did you think our record was gonna be last year? 11-1? 10-2

Anyone who remotely thought LSU was going to go 11-1 or 10-2 last year after losing Perriloux AND Pellini is fricking nuts AND part of the problem.

If Miles were to lose 4 or 5 games this coming season, I would say he deserves to be canned. There is no excuse for losing more than 3 games next season after all the coaching adjustments and talented recruits coming in. I know the SEC is the supreme football conference, but Miles still shouldn't get to keep his job with over three losses this season.

you know the year before saban won it all with us they were 8-5. I'll bet no one thought we should fire him then. Yes i know that we now have expectations of winning, and we should with the talent we have, but my point is that last year, just like someone else already said, was the perfect storm: losing all those seniors, losing your defensive coordinator, losing your starting quarterback, having a ranking at the beginning of the season that was a little bit high, ect. none of these excuses the fact that i also thought at times he just didn't do a good job of coaching, but then again, coaches aren't perfect, they are going to make decisions just like the rest of us that aren't the right ones. oh well, we will be awesome this year and the years to come so

CalLSU, I'm one of the few who has refused to buy into the Saban hype. I knew he was a decent coach with the talent level we have in this region, but I never thought of him as a god based on his national championship season. Saban definitely deserved criticism for going 8-5, too.

yeah i agree, i was just putting that up there to show that just because a coach at a good school has a bad year doesn't mean we are doomed. If saban can turn it around in one year, and i think miles is a much better coach, then i know miles can. Plus i know our talent is better than it was then. So i am very excited about this next year and i also love that espn will be televising our games, that means more future stars will be able to watch us play!!

He's never had a losing season here. And he'd have to have at least one to get canned.

So if he continues to lose 4 or 5 games a year he shouldnt be fired? What a Joke.

If you like fricking mediocrity, go cheer for fricking Mississippi St. or Arkansas.

Depends on how many seasons in a row he does that.

Sorry Conway, Im good, it just amazes me that this guy says that he has to have a losing season to get fired.

That is retarded. Like I said, cleaned up a bit, if you like mediocrity go cheer for Miss. St. or Arkansas.

4-5 losses per season will not cut it. Might as well move to Mississippi.

So you're telling me, if Les Miles, Head Coach at LSU, continues to lose 4-5 games a year for the next 2 years, which is mediocre for LSU standards, you would not consider letting him go? Come On.

In fact, if does not make a BCS Bowl this year, he will start to feel some heat.

Millions in the bank tends to lessen the effect of said heat FWIW. Personally don't think we repeat anything close to 5 losses but the shedule is not for the faint of heart. At least six teams on the schedule are capable of defeating LSU if they fail to bring it.

For the next 2 years? I don't know. If that happens, I'll tell you then.

But, it's not my choice. I'm not the A.D., Chancellor, Lombardi, a member of the BOS, or a huge booster.

You're upset. It'll be okay. We'll comfort you.

I guarantee if we do lose 4-5 a year the next 2 years, people start booing, not coming to games, continue leaving early, etc., his arse will be gone.

I don't think that'll happen so I'm not worried about it.

Miles may be a goofy sombitch, but he just won a national title not long ago.

Chill out. Take a Xanax. It's March.

bombay, chill out! Is God coaching our team? NO!!! Do other good football teams/coaches have bad years? YES! Look at the top 2 winningest football coaches, Bowden and Paterno, look at some of their teams records, guess what, they were worse than ours. It's going to be ok, so we had a bad record last year, big deal. We have a great DC, one of the best recruiting classes. Have a little faith in our NC coach. There were some games last year that we lost that 9 out of 10 times we wont lose: Alabama and Arkansas. If we win those games, we go 10-3. So please just shut up and quit dogging our great coach and team and realize that last year was the worst year we have had in 6 years. Most teams would kill for a year like ours.
