Evidence seems to point to money not being the reason Chavis left. They will spend the money if need be

Chavis isn't worth $1.7 million per year. They made the right call letting him walk for that ridiculous amount.

The contract may have been from 2012 but didn't he just get a raise? He is not going to be the guy! This interview was setup by Bass, Miles is doing a favor for him no real interest
