1 loss out of conference in a season with 56 games in which you play in a tournament to win you conference and tournaments to get to the ultimate goal is exactly the same as a loss to a sunbelt team in a twelve game regular season where every loss make it less likely that you even have an opportunity to play for an overall title. Exactly the same..

If you are going to have a football mentality while watching a baseball season you are going to be upset a lot and be on an emotional rollercoaster. That’s not a very healthy way of watching baseball.
Baseball is a game of failure. You are a successful hitter when you fail 7 out of 10 times. The game is all about how you handle that failure and don’t let it snowball. Losing a game isn’t the end of the world, no matter who that loss is to, as long as you bounce back and win the next day and then worry about winning the next one.

You are right but let's be honest, CPM is consistently underwhelming in midweek matchups. I don't complain too much about it because it's part of his approach and philosophy and usually pays off on the back end of the season.
It certainly doesn't make it any easier to swallow, though. Some may just disagree with the philosophy of testing the waters in the midweek games. Some people want to dominate the weaker schools and carry that momentum into the weekend series. It really is just a difference of philosophy.
