Wrong! Marshall didn't go higher because he has never shown himself to project to be a game changer at the NFL level. Chase, Waddle and Smith have. All three of those guys have dominated the best corners in college ball - guys like Stingley, Ricks, AJ Terrell, Trevon Diggs, and Surtain.

Can you name a top notch corner that Marshall has dominated? Of course not; he hasn't. He might be able to, but that's a far cry from having the skin on the wall.

I agrew With you for different reasons.

I think If he had a 3 more good games and showed out against Surtain and Ole Miss he could have squeezed into the first round.

but also he would have quieted some of his injury concerns.

Doesn’t pay to quit kids.

THat is my opinion also.

But on the other hand, if he had gotten injured, he would have dropped further.
He gambled. I hope it pays dividends later.

to what team? The Ravens took Bateman from Minnesota at 27, he played 5 games last year. Minn did not play Ohio State in 2019 and as a freshman he had 2 catches for 15 yards vs OSU, so do tell me why you think the Ravens or teams like the Saints who took a DL that played 5 games in the AAC last would have taken Marshall if only he played against Alabama last year. Why insight or intel do you guys have to show that if only he did what you wanted he would have been rewarded?

So right now he’s a second rounder.

You literally believe there is nothing on the field he could have done to be a first?

Nothing.

I dont Blame guys for sitting out. I’m
Not a chase or a Marshall hater.

But Marshall came back to play himself into the first and I think He pulled the cord prematurely

You’re right. All Americans that for the most part never had any injury concerns at all

And Rashod Bateman? When was he an AA? He also opted out of the final games last year but hey don;t let fact get int he way of your narrative

You are dead wrong. He dropped because of medical red flags concerning his ankle fracture and foot fracture. Him opting out had absolutely zero to do with not getting drafted in the 1st round.

Baltimore took R Bateman at 27, he played 5 games last year and had numbers comparable to Marshall last year and opted out with games to play He did have better number in 19 but did not have 2 first rounders on his team either. There are lots of factors why a team may like one player better for fans of his college team to just assume that the sole reason they passed on him was because he quit makes a nice narrative but doesn't seem grounded in reality

The nfl does not care if a kid opts out or quits on his team. can he play and stay healthy? thats all that matters

Marshall is still on the board mainly due to injury issues. Him opting out has nothing to do with it.
