No.
Even if they win the SEC tournament on that Sunday, they still wouldn't play before Thursday in the first round of the NCAA tourney, maybe even Friday if they get lucky.
That's plenty of time to rest. It would be retarded to hope for a loss so the team can "rest up."

These guys are like 20 and in excellent shape. How much rest does a guy need to play 35 minutes of a 40 minute game over the span of two hours?

well, if we won out... we wouldn't play in the first round of the SEC tourney. In fact, we're already guaranteed to not play in the first round.

If anything we could become rusty for not playing for more than a week if we lose our first game in the second round.
