is a likable poster, sure, but this is a terrible post. ForeverLSU, the season can end for you today. Don't watch anymore LSU basketball this season (which may indeed only be one more game), and you can instantly be happy, how about that?

Well tell me what you think of this team's performance this year -
I think they had talent and totally under performed terribly.
Dude - they are not even going to make the tourney. I'm not talking Sweet 16 or Final Four. They will not even make the cut to get into the tourney. You dig?

I'll watch but I'm sick of being disappointed with this team

Losing Hornsby was brutal to this teams chances. LSU just doesn't have the bench for a 3 day all out leave it on the floor type run. I have the want to believe but I just don't see it.

I'm a basketball guy and love LSU hoops, but man....I gotta agree forever. Been watching LSU hoops for over 40 years and this has been one of the most disappointing and hard to watch seasons of them all.

Certainly we've had worse records and a lot less talent, but we knew that going in so it wasn't the punch in the sack this season has been.

The latest rationalization is downplaying the talent and saying the expectations were unrealistic.

Well, I don't know what everyone else expected but this year is not close to the worst expectations of anyone for this team and an underachievement by any measure.

If LSU doesn't lose the first game by 15+, I'll be pleasantly surprised.

I agree with this overall; however, I have been frustrated with Jones' substitution patterns all season long and maybe for the majority of his tenure at LSU. When he came in, I thought we were going to be a run and gun type team. The most effective defensive sets I've seen Jones' teams run has been the full court press, which they did pretty effectively with two short guards and a pretty average overall Shavon Coleman guarding the inbounds pass. More recently, we haven't pressed ever, even with improved length and athleticism and the bench, while average at best, has been extremely underutilized imo. I don't see why more bench players don't get more minutes if nothing else to play aggressively on defense and give hard fouls. We've consistently played 5-7 guys the last few seasons what seems to be 80-90% of the minutes overall and our guys always look gassed in the second half. Whatever rotations we've been running hasn't worked so why not try and give someone else a chance and see what happens.
