Rick you are a level headed dude IMO one of the few on this board. Do you really think if O wins out or loses one game he won't get the job? I think he will. Herman is the top choice but looking at his body of work what has he done. Sure he beat OU and FSU. OU would be in about the shape Ole Miss is in the SEC and FSU would be too. So who else out there are you looking at say if Herman goes to Texas?

He probably will get the job.

I get that but Saban at Michigan State was horrible. He won only 6 games 3 times.

Id say try to steal jimbo and if everyone says no id offer Aranda. Aranda could be a lsu lifer and is one the best young cfb minds out there.

We just had a great recruiter and great motivator that was an average game day coach. Imo Coach O will be the same thing. Once the talent gap in the sec closed we could no longer just out talent teams. Im just extremely worried about lsu is we hire coacb O.

You would take CEO over Jimbo?
Look the success we are seeing now is more of an indictment of miles than a positive for Coach O.

I would, but I think Jimbo is a dirt bag.

I disagree. Coach O has obviously tapped into the emotional depths of the team (not just the talent that was underutilized).

In my opinion, even if they wanted to give O the job right now they should wait until after the A&M game. That keeps the team (who loves O) and O (who loves LSU) laser focused on the end goal - winning out.

Give him the job a little early, and you risk losing some of that emotional edge before the prize is won - and remember what that edge did for the team against the aggies last year? The players played their hearts out to save Les' job.

I wonder how the players will respond if they think that beating the stuffing out of the jizz-jar-junkies in their own house will get their coach a permanent job?

He may not be the right man for the job, but if he wins out and still doesn't get an opportunity to come back for a full season, PISS on Aleva and the LSU administration for telling him there was a chance.

No, I'm sorry, piss on all of you who keep pushing this agenda. All O has been promised is an interview and that is all he should get, regardless of his win/lose record. To make the results of the games this year for him or any other coach is ridiculous. If O is going to be considered he should go through the interview process and answer questions about his long term vision for making LSU into a national power again. He should have to be evaluated against other coaches as to how his long term plans and methods will work to maintain and expand the football program at LSU. To say if he wins this game or that game, he automatically gets a pass from interviewing and is just made the head coach is stupid and any Tiger fan who cares about the football program should be dead set against this idea.

I mean, we just had a successful run under a coach who can really only recruit. He was stubborn to systems and assistants in many cases, which cost him and us.

Now imagine a similar coach - recruits great, etc. who actually lets his assistants coach and goes and gets great assistants and lets them do their job.

I still think you rank your candidates and go after them in order, but O has moved up my list pretty high.
