breh, I don't like the negative vibes you bring to hoops threads FWIW

There is nothing negative about it. Its just how the polls in basketball work. You know that. It takes an act of congress to work your way into (or out of) the top 25 in college basketball. I have seen it too many times.

If we beat UVA, we are arguably a top 25 team, we just won't be voted there.

worst team in d-1

That didnt stop us from losing to a shitty Nichols team last year although I know its a new year and we are a better team than last year

Even if we win out in non-conference, the start of the SEC season is brutal, with 4 tough road trips in the first 7 games - plus Kentucky at home. Even a good performance of 4-3 on this trip

Yeah, that's a tough opening SEC stretch Bubba. I can't see 4-3. 3-4 at best with 2-5 a liklihood. It's just that we play IMHO the 4 best SEC teams in that stretch, 3 on the road and the one at home being Kentucky.

I'd frankly be pretty happy with 3-4 given where we are, improvement noted.

The sad part is, the casual fan will think the ship has sunk if we start out 3-4, while we will know that's not that bad.

Basketball isn't much on the radar right now and I understand the reasons.

But that's 3 top 15 teams in that stretch, two on the road and a Bama team that's been ranked most of the year on the road as well. That would be tough for any team.
