re: If Les wanted a true dual threat QB, why not Shep?

Awesome find.
People will still find anyway possible to discredit him though to make Miles look like less of a frick up in this entire ordeal.
What a waste of talent.

Yep, a truly amazing waste of talent. You take a once in a generation type player and waste him...so we can have the QB play that we saw the last three years (minus the first 8 games of last year that Lee played). Moreover, you waste Lee too. Just flat out lie to them.
Really sad.

Your hatred and pessimism toward Les Miles is well documented. By the way, we won 33 games in the past 3 years.

Way to deflect the topic.

Pretty clear that Shep saw that JJ was going to play QB under Les regardless of how much he stunk.
wow, how did that story not get more play around here? It completely blows the narrative out of the water.

It did get some play. It was dismissed by sunshine pumpers by saying Shep could not throw a ball (some are still saying it) and that JJ was clearly the better QB, I trust the coaches, etc.
Same thing that is being said now, years later.

It's a shame Miles fricked over not only these players, but lied to them, likely their families, fans,etc....
What a man of "character"

Kiel just said that ain't gonna be me.
I'm not gonna be treated like a Lee or a Shep.

quote:Or maybe he doesn't want to be treated like Miles or Jefferson: one loss, even if it's the NCG, and the whole fan base goes full retard. Bash the coach. Bash the QB. Discredit everything they've done (years of success) over their entire career. . . all because of one game! Maybe Gunner sees the way Miles and Jefferson have been treated since 1/9 and says, "No, thanks. I don't want anything to do with that fan base."

Fricking negatigers.

All we want is for Les to play the best QB.
When he refused, we questioned his judgment.
I'm guessing Kiel did the same.

Do you really believe this?
Because if so, you need to seek professional help.

I find this a very fascinating question. I think the coaches gave up way to early on shep as a qb.....size can be the only thing that I believe was hindering his chance of being a qb.
I find this hard to believe just due to size. Oregon's QB is just about the same height, weight, and etc as Shep. I have to go along with some others on here. Give him a chance in the game. He couldn't have been any worse than JJ.

Interesting how fast this thread died since your informative post.
