absolutely. Alleva is a standup guy and has a excellent support staff working underneath him. Hiring a coach is all about timing and resources. The reason we hired CLM wasn't based on Skip being cheap like everyone thinks. It was based on who was available. All the big names were taken when we went shopping and CLM was the only coach that coach get out of his contract (del rio) and wouldn't leave us for the NFL (petrino).

disclaimer: I think there is no chance CLM leaves LSU for CU.

well, #1 les aint going anywhere but michigan unless he's fired, and that aint happening neither...but for shits and giggles,

alleva would hire a search firm the same one that found Saban and Miles...#2 they would give him recommendations other then the obvious ones like Harbough, Peterson and Patterson.

the others the firm would prolly recommend would be coaches from smaller schools like Marrone at Syracuse and "up and Commers"

Alleva is tough to figure out--you could say he sends out mixed signals. He was a college football player & I believe used to be a football coach. But here, it was reported that last year, he would not allow a new OC to be hired, since he didn't want to pay off Crowton's contract. Also, he was at Duke previously & their football program showed no improvement. Who really knows how he would do if this had to be done?

I would hope he would hire a proven coach, not a coach who managed 8-5, 9-4 records at Oklahoma St.

That coach you're talking about have done okay here..1 NC, great recruiter, clean quality program, and great record. Auburn hired a coach whose team didn't have a winning record at his last job-it worked out for them so far too!!

bullshite - your team has lost one fricking game. You're already "up" regardless of what you shitty fanbase thinks of your coach.

I know from first-hand experience that LSU's whole world can get rocked if y'all jackass around and replace Miles with an unknown coach. Been there - done that shite. More than once.

You mean, they couldnt afford his salary with at his worth in 2007. A highschool could afford his salary worth right now.
