Why would he plant such a high number? Even if Tennessee goes all out wouldn’t they basically have to quadruple his current salary to top it? Seems like it would effectively price out one of the two sides you want to bid against one another.

idk if you've seen twitter today, but Tennessee isn't priced out. They're going to fight this to the bitter, or happy, depending on what side you're on... end.

At this point TVs current salary is irrelevant. It’s based on what the current highest paid head coach is getting paid. Honestly if we offered that much that’s absurd. I hope we didn’t.

I don't think they'd go past 3. Starving fan base, AD that has little to no fan support as it is.. it's perfectly set up to grossly overpay him.

I guess we’ll find out. He’s going to get a significant raise one way or the other, I just don’t see how Tennessee is going to offer double or triple what the highest paid coaches are currently making.

The president of the school is a billionaire and a baseball fan, owns the Tennessee Smokies minor league club. Himself and several of their boosters are pretty much funding this themselves. Hear their AD doesn't deal with Jimmy Sexton clients though, so that'll be interesting.

They fricked up football so bad I think they are more desperate than we are for him. He ain’t going anywhere imo
