Look forward to coaching a more mature, seasoned team next year. We don't have any seniors, a stud All American post coming in, another solid recruit in Isaac, and another big eligible as a transfer.

A year in the weightroom, an SEC season under their belt(will help the Freshman), we will be fine or,

Trent will be heading out west looking for a new gig if we don't see a major improvement next year and I would gladly chip in on a one way ticket!

PS, I am a big Trent supporter and I want him to do well in the worst way because he is a good coach, regardless of what is written on here! His peers have recognized that as well!

...hire the best recruiting assistant coach LSU can afford, and get some players in here, asap.

Otherwise, he's finished.

Totally agree, and though I wanted Anthony Grant(also Coale or Mulkey instead of Van for the woman's job), based upon youth and recruiting.

Johnson rode a SEC-POY in MT, underrated Taz, and that Iron Five, + 2 Journeyman Bench(IE a 7 man team) to an outright SEC Title in his 1st yr..dare say coached them up good too.

And though he chose to retool the roster, via building with 'program players', and landing some good talent for this next incoming class, he has to step up his recruiting to a more elite level, and/or reconsider accessorizing with some JuCo talent..

His recruiting style may be a bit dated for modern day winning? Given LSU's 2nd tier place in the food-chain in terms of recruiting Top 100 Players vs the nation's bluebloods, and with the rate of this modern era's roster turnover?

Then, there is the whole chicken-egg, horse-buggie thing with LSU Fan/PMAC bandwagon attendance, based upon winning and losing, which factors into trying recruit the better ballers..thus TJ now up against it worse now in this regard, than even when JB was here, and/or TJ first arrived..the joint is deader and emptier than the JB era..even though lower-bowl tix holders renew and just let them rot.

....I'd reschuffle the entire deck from top to bottom.

I'd bring in a new staff composed of outsiders that can recruit and can evaluate talent. The present staff has shown they cannot.

I'd evaluate and rate each player. I'd cancel the scholarships of the bottom 5 and sign the maximim number (5) of new players.

Of course the problem now, is that you only have until april to play catch up and bring in recruits.

He better, he really needs a new staff. Has anybody ever looked at the resume of these guys. The only one with real experience doesn't even travel with the team. He needs drastic changes on his staff and team. If by chance a stud falls into his lap he could choose any one of 5or6 players to pull their schollie. As of today not a whole lot to look forward to, with exception of O'bryant who will need plenty of coaching to refine his offensive skills. He is very raw with plenty of potential.

Pray that this Transfer from Iowa St is a hell of a lot better than Malcom White. Pray that the McDonalds All American from Mississippi is an immediate impact player. Pray that he gets a top flight Juco point guard over the summer!
If all of the stars align and this happens, he better pray that the Tigers don't suffer any injuries next year. A lot has to happen for a major turn around.
