the 1st tie-breaker is head-to-head among the teams.:

The first tiebreaker when 3 teams are involved (in this case, 6-2 Bama, Arky and LSU) is the head-to-head deal.

Bama would be 1-1, LSU 1-1, and Arky 1-1. So, this solves nothing.

Then, we go to record against the West. Bama would be 4-1, LSU 3-2, and Arky 3-2.

In this scenario, Bama wins.

There is no good scenario for LSU winning tiebreakers with multiple teams, so the best bet, as usual, is for LSU to win out. If we do lose a game, it better be to Ole Miss.

How does any dreamed-up, drunken or drug-induced scenario ever get to the Gumps having 1 loss? They lost to us and the Cocks-are you saying that the SEC office will take away their loss to us because Camgate was distracting the SEC officials too much to rig the game?

Only hope is that Cam doesn't play and Auburn collapses and loses the next 2 games, we win out (convincingly in all....especially Arky), and we go to and win the SECCG.

if auburn loses next 2, and we win out (no matter how we do it against arky) and if we go on and win the SECCG....lsu will have a great shot at the NC game. If oregon loses, it is a done deal...we are in.

WTF?

Bama would be 4-1 against the West. Try reading.

But we lost to Tennessee before we beat them. So that still counts as a loss in some peoples eyes.

If LSU wins out then all the facts will come out and LSU will be in the mix for the NC game.

Assuming the barn gets burnt down by NCAA, Oregon/LSU would be the game I'd want to see if I'm a voter or a TV exec. When you rewatch all the amazing 4th quarter calls and epic games LSU has played and then consider how fun the Ducks are to watch I would get excited. Then the rematch in Cowboys stadium to start 2011 would be unprecedented.

If LSU wins out, we will be in the NC. Our only "loss" would be a 7-pt loss to the team with the best player in college, who was ineligible at the time.

With our schedule and quality wins, no other team could match our resume'. But, another loss and we are clearly done.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, no matter how fantastic/unrealistic it may be. However I'm pretty sure the 99.99% view is that LSU has to win the SECCG to make it to the BCSCG.

It has nothing to do with pollsters. Nada. Zip.
not exactly. the reason why lsu wasn't ranked higher in the bcs before the bama win was because the voters were keeping lsu down despite lsu's great computer ranking. the voters do make a difference.

in the minds of the voters, lsu has two losses right now, auburn and tenn. plus, i think voters would punish the sec for camgate by locking the sec out even if it means tcu-boisenberry.

when is Cam Newton going to be declared ineligible?

these seem to be the facts:

1 - Kenny Rogers is an agent who matches HS athletes with colleges and has a questionable rep

2 - Cam's father has admitted to knowing Rogers for several years and meeting with him on Cam's official visit to MSU

3 - Rogers has admitted to being involved in a pay-4-play scheme representing Cam Newton at MSU

4 - there are witnesses and phone records to support these things and more

isn't this enough to prove guilt? or at least guilt by association?

and this just in ...

5 - Cam's father admits to asking for money if Cam played at MSU

that would mean according to this:

quote:

NCAA spokesperson Stacey Osburn told The Birmingham News by email that "the solicitation of cash or benefits by a prospective student-athlete or another individual on his or her behalf is not allowed under NCAA rules."

Cam is therefore ineligible whether or not he had knowledge of his father's dealings.

correct?

No matter what the ruling about cam is, we (LSU) still lost to Auburn in a head to head matchup. I'll always consider that game a loss no matter what the NCAA decides. If LSU would have taken care of business on the plains, then we probably wouldn't even have this thread. We lost the game and no matter what some people hope, a loss is a loss.

Really? Exactly how? LSU's AU loss gets vacated and the Gumps already have two SEC W losses. Even if LSU lost to both Arky & Ole Piss, LSU would win any tie-breaker with the Gumps.

No sure you understand how this works. If Auburn has to vacate wins... LSU still keeps the loss, Auburn just doesn't get the win. Say they vacate their wins and he is ineligible, we still need them to lose go GA and BAMA then win out... if we lose 1 of the 2 remaining SEC games and Bama wins out then they go to the SECCG.

from what i've read, it is possible that Auburn may be forced to forfeit their wins because the season is not over. then, LSU get a win vs AU instead of a loss. more info HERE

no.

screwed is the correct word, not undefeated.

screwed by a con artist extortionist.

And LSU at 11-1 could still make the NC game but the Sugar would be great, especially if its hosted by SEC champ USCe.

The most important thing is for LSU to win out.
